When is micro emini available on IB?

Been trading micros. They are a great tool to practice trading. I'm still working on improving my futures trading. More importantly, I wanted to practice particular patterns. So far, that has been somewhat effective. But a certain patterns I'm still not able to execute correctly even though...

When is micro emini available on IB?

Traded MNQ for the first time. Made a total net $100, which is a rounding error for me. But more importantly, I'm using it to practice trade without the larger P&L swings of the full contract. I wanted to practice holding onto winners longer. And I was able to hold for 30 NQ points! For the...

When is micro emini available on IB?

I saw on CME website that micro emini will be available in May 2019. Here we are. Do you guys know when IB will have? Especially IB IRA? I have many many multiples of the regular account margins for NQ, YM, ES but still can't trade them in my IB IRA because the margins on IB IRA for NQ and...

Another famed value investor closing his fund. David Winters.

While that may be true for individual retail trader, it's much different for institutional investors. Funds have to stick to their investment style else they are accused of "style drift." Pension funds allocate funds according to styles. So fund managers have to stick to their style. They don't...

Made a lot of progress, but feel like there's so much more to go...

Yep. It's not easy. It looks easy, but it's definitely not easy. It takes a lot of experiences and mistakes to time things just right. Enter in at the best risk/reward spot and exit just right. You can never exit perfectly because no one can predict the future. The best you can do is exit at the...

Only made $318 on futures. Futures is still hard for me. Only in IB IRA account, does one get LESS leverage trading futures than stocks and options. LOL. Profitable in 3 different asset classes so far. Gotta keep working at it. Gotta go to work.

I was able to get in 58 option contracts. Flip it out for $2K in 15minutes. Had I exited a little better it would be well over $3.7K. And again if I held a little longer it would have been be $10K. Now to illustrate it was not all luck. I had a losing trade of $184 today. I like that Gain/Loss...

just made $2K in options this morning. Stocks and options I can made decent. Futures I'm still weak at. I think it's just the speed at which futures move. I don't have that much in my account. So % wise it's really high.

The S&P 500 will top soon at 2925-2930

dude. stop calling tops! Long ago, I had that mistaken disease. Now I trade what I see and not what I think. Make more money and lose less money. Maybe it will top soon or maybe not. Doesn't matter to us traders.

Sure. In a field like trading there's a lot of element of randomness and it's difficult to distinguish between skill and luck. I totally agreed with that. And it's NOT about how many times in a row you win. I think that's a poor measure of having a real edge. To me if one has defined a...

Totally agreed. Even if I make 2x my salary I would still work FT. Even 5x. At 10x maybe... But even then. Benefits and steady income give peace of mind in trading. :)

Made a lot of progress, but feel like there's so much more to go...

Ironically, I did NOT benefit from the bubble since 2009. I was stupid and shorted and lost a lot. Only in 2018 onwards was I able to go LONG and SHORT and profitted both ways. There were years since 2009 that I did not trade and focused on my professional career. In 2015, I was profitable...

Made a lot of progress, but feel like there's so much more to go...

why do you say it's luck? I had an entry criteria. And I had an exit criteria. I was busy and didn't exit at the MFE. But as soon as I saw it coming down I exited and protected profits. That's very well thought out approach. had I held on and "hoping" it will come up again then that's luck. My...

This morning traded stocks instead of options because my options didn't get filled. I had over another $1K profit but I was too busy trying to get into a different trade that I wasn't paying attention so gave back some open profit. Ended up only $641. But I'm very glad I got out when I did...

I've both swing traded options and daytraded options. I think it all depends on the stocks. If a stock is trending for days then maybe. But nowadays, things move back and forth so fast that options lose a lot of value quickly. I feel like I should be in and out of them fast... what have been...
