Made a lot of progress, but feel like there's so much more to go...

Yep. This morning I did one of my best setup for a stock. Ka-ching. If I just execute only those types of trades then I should be fine. It's like an ATM. Of course, I did one NQ trade net negative. Fortunately the loss is less than the stock trades. Like clockwork.

Today, I fell into the futures trading trap again. Net negative. My stock options trade was nicely positive. I think the reason why my stock and stock options trades are better is because I have somewhat of an edge and it doesn't suffer from as much decision fatigue as futures trading. In...

This is not about greed. It's about executing according to your chart analyses and MAXIMIZING the opportunity you've identified at hand. Just happened again this morning. got in a good position as it starts zooming I got out. had I just held I would have been up about 5x. Oh well. It's a good...

Since I'm really good at reading charts(at least it's one of my relative strengths) but really bad and nervous when looking at fast moving bid/ask, should I just totally ignore the bid/ask when trading and just trade totally off my charts? I would be able to hold onto winners longer. IB even has...

Agreed. However, I want to clarify. I would NEVER hold through a 600 points drawdown. What I meant with the post above was that it was normal fluctuations and I got shaken out when I should have stayed with the bigger intraday trend. This was the main point I was making earlier. I should have...

Traded stocks, futures, and options. Made $ in all 3 asset classes. But I got shaken out of a few good positions. I made very little. After I exited the stock, it went up $1.50?!! wtf?! I had 1000 shares so that's $1500 I left on the table because I got shaken out. MMs/specialist bring it down...

Today was a total stock focused day. I've been meaning to do that since my historical stats (before 2019, in 2019 I was more focused in futures) indicate I do better in stocks. I did well on a few trending stocks. My big mistake was getting into an option with an illiquid name. ouch. last time...

How do you organize your trading notes and material?

I have been reviewing my trades using TraderVue. Man, I had some really idiotic trades on. Really really stupid ones. I had some really good ones too. Had I just cut losses on the really stupid trades then I would be up so nicely. That's the goal for the remaining of the year. Don't do stupid...

How do you organize your trading notes and material?

I'm testing out Tradervue. Not bad though it doesn't do everything I want. But still useful. It's interesting to study my stats. I have 70% winning percentage which doesn't mean shit because I still didn't make that much. The main reason is the BIG countertrend losses of the past! On my...

Ironically, I'm doing well in this slow summer environment. With NG, it moves like molasses in the summer. Like watching paint dry. But the upside to that is that I can get in easily and just hold and get out easily with nice profits without getting whipsawed or stress. With NQ, I see my setup...

Jerry Jones Is Betting on Natural Gas. Should You?

I was not a stock guy per se. I was trading futures heavily in 2015. The error was that I let my beliefs determine the trade rather than the chart(technicals). With hindsight that was just pure stupidity. Wisdom comes from ashes of our mistakes. Clear downward trend with no reversal in sight...

Jerry Jones Is Betting on Natural Gas. Should You?

The highs were in 2008 in the $13s. Now it's in the 2s. You gotta trade that thing and not hold it. I was not trading anything back then.

Jerry Jones Is Betting on Natural Gas. Should You?

NG prices have been down for years on end. Then in late 2015, I got the smart idea that it's probably bottoming. I lost a pretty bundle betting big and holding in 2015 and some in 2016. 2019 I'm making decent in NG but from TRADING and not holding.

Again, I hate index futures. Lost a modest amount but so frustrating. It was so smooth sailing with NG and other instruments. I should just stop. It was a lot of work for so little gain(actually loss). There are a few trend days in there but it was choppy land today.

    The Slumping South

Nope. The poor are fleeing CA. The highly paid white collar professionals(Tech, Medicine, Law, Hollywood, etc.) are still here and few relatively "poor" despite making multiple 6 figures income. And of course the newly minted billionaires/millionaires are pushing up Bay Area real estate again...

Made nice $ on CL and NG. For index futures, I RESISTED the temptations to do countertrend trading like I did last Friday. I actually even went long a few times using the MNQs. Made a pittance. This is the beginning of my self therapy to trade the index futures correctly. I think the reason I'm...

NQ, just like all the other instruments, follow chart patterns well. It's just more choppy at times unless there's a nice trend. And I do stupid things with it(i.e. countertrend trade whereas the other instruments I don't). I went back and analyzed my trades since 2015. And the picture is very...

Interesting. I'm NOT the guy you mentioned. But that simple strategy should work with proper risk management and trade management.

Reputable Under $200 deposit stock broker

Yep. The best edge is to have another source of cash flow. Save up a decent sized account $5K-$25K. Trade sim or trade really small and learn. I don't even understand a $200 deposit. what does this even mean from a risk mgmt standpoint...

Perhaps. What are your best instruments? I think the real reason is that I still like to countertrend on the index futures with bad results. not sure why. It's a psychological bias. Maybe best to stay away from that. And just trade instruments that I can do well... Also, I find it's difficult...
