    Position Sizing For Options

I stand corrected, correlation is a real problem when doing many option trades so do your best to diversify with things that widly uncorrelated. I myself trade only 1 future at this moment in time and there this rule more or less aplies.

    Position Sizing For Options

A classic rule says: don't risk more than 2% on each trade ... seems good advise to follow if you trade agressively. Some people risk only 0.5% on each trade. You want to be able to survive in the long run. Beware options can get tricky: make sure you are familiar with the greeks and with that...

2σ’s Market Making Book: Hiding in Plain Sight

yes, but unless you actually work at one of those firms it's difficult (if not impossible) to know what they really do. One of the things Timber Hill according to rumours was that Timber Hill priced volatility by sector. So if for example people were buying vol in Carrefour, vol in Delhaize and...

2σ’s Market Making Book: Hiding in Plain Sight

very interesting read ... if now someone could explain this to me in simple words lol ... what I get is that Timber Hill failed to keep their eyes on the ballgame and better competition took over with better technology.

    Swingtrading is better than intraday.

yup, intraday is harder but I have an 4 dimensional algorythm that does just that. Friday this gave me a return of 1000%. I know this is not representative since it was a huge trendday in Dax. I am not expecting anything like that on a normal trading day.

    Swingtrading is better than intraday.

really good traders know how to trade both. Intraday has it's restrictions: for example it is not realistic to trade over 20 Dax futures. So if you got more money you need to 'invest', swingtrade. I know how to do both but my account is still too small so these restrictions do not yet apply to...

Question on Liquidity of Option strategy trades

you still don't get it ... if you leg in you shoudl always do the long part first but why would you do that if the combo is quick and almost guaranteed to have a better price ... to answer your question they will always look at the combo for margin even when you are so pigheaded to do them in...

Option Price moves against stock price

If you are a good trader, you might be a dummy

yes, male traders often have too big ego's and testosteron driving their decisions could be one explanation for that.

Question on Liquidity of Option strategy trades

two remarks: what you see as actually being traded is not the available liquidity it's (like open intrest) just a hint. Market makers are prepared to offer you quite high liquidity. And yes it's best to trade the two legs at once since the combo represents lesser risk for the market makers so...

Covered call trader here...Doing a lot of leaps

theta works best with 3 months in the future ... something you might consider ... you could do 4 times a covered call in that time and even have you adjust your strike ... But I have to admit there's no hard and fast rule for something like this. With the current correction I'd prefer the 4...
