    Overnight Flash Crash...

I've seen it before as well in MANY equities stocks. Unless Obama/Boehner get together overnight and get it done, I don't see how we go back to even. Look at the charts, they are starting to show that ugly curl downwards. Dow futures is at about -200 right now.

    Overnight Flash Crash...

This wasn't a flash crash. Big volume. Traders dump 30k contracts on the ES AFTER HOURS (around 8:20pm). That's as much volume as the open. Tmrw is gonna bad day for longs.

    Overnight Flash Crash...

Dude, Non-event? It looks like the recent run-up we've been having is based somewhat on early fiscal cliff resolution. Now that the rug has been pulled, traders are gonna protect their gains, especially year end. Do we retest the nightly lows? Be interesting to see tomorrow when real...

    Smith & Wesson

NRA pulled their Facebook page. Smart move to hibernate and let this thing past. Too much backlash at the moment to fight.

Short term, it seems gun makers are going down. Cerberus has said they are selling their gun maker company.

Grinding it out, day after day

There aren't too many good trading forums besides ET. I was on Trade2Win for a while but that seemed to be more for European traders. I never knew what a trading arcade was until I was on that forum. This was a great thread when it was active. It seems lescor got bored posting here. I...

Beyond Twinkies: Why More Workers Are Striking

What u conveniently forgot to include was, "There was an 8 percent decrease in the pay but it was going to come back into their paychecks over the next five years," Farmer said. "So, it wasn't going to completely go away." You think they actually gonna believe that??? After getting wacked...

Beyond Twinkies: Why More Workers Are Striking

Geez, from 48k to 25k. Take home LESS than UI. No wonder they were willing to let it die. Hostess jobs: 'Great' to 'not worth saving' Mike Hummell, a receiving clerk and a member of the Bakers' union working in Lenexa, Kan., said he was making about $48,000 in 2005 before the company's...

Beyond Twinkies: Why More Workers Are Striking

The products aren't going away. They are too iconic. Someone gonna buy up the intellectual assets and build a new company.

Beyond Twinkies: Why More Workers Are Striking

I don't know the details but the deal must have been pretty atrocious if all those workers were willing to let their jobs and the company go under.

    Trading floors

Forget that. Trading floors are like museum relics. Catch them before they are all gone.

$20 per gallon gas in NY

Yeah. I live in NYC and drove to PA for gas last couple days. A lot of people stocking up are panicking. Most of them have enough gas to go to PA to fill up. And I have an SUV that only gets 18mpg. 70 miles to PA, needed about 4 gallons. Most people will need much less.

$20 per gallon gas in NY

They are rationing gas now in NJ. Using odd/even system. Seems kinda silly. If I really needed gas, I would just go to PA.

$20 per gallon gas in NY

I live in NYC right below the Mendoza line, 39th St, so I was out of power until Friday night. Couldn't do any trading for last 4 days so I went to Parx and Sands in PA to play poker. Lines for gas are ridiculous in the Jersey area just across from Manhattan. At Sands which is more north than...

    Ray Bitar and Bright Trading

It's the nature of the beast. The smart ones, like Negreanu, treat their poker as a business. The others, well, you got the same ones in trading, guys hoping to get rich quick. In the poker world, staking other players and lending money based just on your word to pay back, is big. That's how...

    Ray Bitar and Bright Trading

Ranking hands is done by calculating the number of possibilities in 52 card deck. There are twice as many ways to get a straight than a flush. Flush has 5108 poss vs a straight which has 10200. But if you think only in terms of the number of outs after flop of a flush draw vs a open end...

    Ray Bitar and Bright Trading

He, Lederer and Ferguson were the big 3 at Full Tilt Poker. If Lederer got 40 mil, Bitar did as well. If not for Poker Black Friday, taking that kind of distribution with the amount of money they were making, would have been justified. Being the house in online poker is the biggest edge...
