    Housing Rolling Along 2

Star, My sister and her husband live in LI. Whereabout in LI are you? I worked in the City adn lived in NJ back in 2003-2004. But I'm now in a much warmer climate in Cali. Seems like you are in a great shape financially. So, take your time and explore your options. But cashing out now...

    Do you agree with Dr.Elder?

Not to be tautological, but by DEFINITION those who "began" trading in their 20s and are now in their 30s are the SURVIVORS. That introduces survivorship bias. Because those are in the group that persevered and succeed in some measures throughout all those years would be a "success" in some...

    Trade Asian stocks through Interactivebrokers

def, how about middle eastern stocks? From some of the articles posted here, there is a big bull market going on there. It would be nice to have a single broker where one can trade the ENTIRE GLOBAL markets. So, whenever there's a big move somewhere in the world we can jump in for a ride...

    Nikkei 25,000!

EWJ doesn't track Nikkei perfectly. I've studied it. It's a close proxy. But the patterns are slightly different.

    Nikkei 25,000!

yeah, the retail investors are usually the last to go in. U.S. money managers and hedge funds have been pumping money into Japan since Nikkei at 8000. But to take us to 25,000 and beyond there will be resurgent interest by Japanese retail investors interested in their own equity markets again...

Catoosa, So you buy the equities and not the Topix or Nikkei futures? With 100K in futures you would be up quite a bit today. hehe.

    Nikkei 25,000!

Look at Nikkei. Came back from the low. I bet in a few weeks we'll be back at the all time high if not sooner. They have slowly worked through those banking problems already. There are MASSIVELY PENTED UP cash among Japanese households. Should they decided to get back into their equity...

    Nikkei 25,000!

No, GOOG $600 is way more ridiculous story. We are talking about the 2nd largest economy in the world coming around after like 16 years down to sideway market movements. Nothing goes down forever and nothing goes up forever. There are long cycles. Look at GOLD. Peaked at $800. But didn't...

    Nikkei 25,000!

Hi All, I'm suggesting that Nikkei will probably hit 25,000 within 1yr. I know it looks overvalued and people have been selling. But it could be easily back over 17,000 before the end of February from a technical standpoint as well as from a statistical pattern recognition...

    Nikkei 225

What are the Nikkei 225 DOLLAR denom. trading hours? It seems like it's only traded in CST 8-3:15PM? So, now even though the Tokyo markets is open and trading it wouldn't affect the CME NKD until tomorrow? Isn't that imply a lag or sorts? hmm..
