Rarely seen on ET and elsewhere

Yes, that's one usage for it that could be regarded as a 'thanks'. But no 'like' and no 'thank you' is like when someone holds the door open for you and you walk right through without even a nod, and which is seen all too often here. Oh well, maybe that's the way of the internet and I'm just ol'...

Rarely seen on ET and elsewhere

There is no purpose in finger pointing, even though it would be easier than pointing at a star on a cloudless night in the desert.

Rarely seen on ET and elsewhere

On ET and elsewhere I so often see people asking for information, for your knowledge, for your help etc. without ever using the word 'please', or giving a 'thanking you in advance'. And if someone is kind enough to assist the OP, rarely is a follow up 'thank you' sent. Where have people's...

What is the rationale behind trendlines?

I believe that a proper trend must be clearly established before a trend line can be drawn correctly. And the mood or psychological state of the trader,as you stated, would/could lead to misreading the price movement and the incorrect drawing of the line. In an old thread I defined what I...

If I copy and paste the list to Word, the format changes and it's too hard to read. Can't send the page address as the account could be accessed. And using Snipping Tool would take hours.

Why did trend following work well in commodities in 1970s but lost effectiveness later?

One of the world's greatest traders once said: Trends will always exist in the markets as long as there are people who cannot read them.

Why did trend following work well in commodities in 1970s but lost effectiveness later?

Trends existed in the 1870s, 1970s, and certainly will in the 2070s. Maybe indicators and such newfangled stuff that didn't exist back then are blinding today's traders.

How do you determine trend direction?

Sorry, are you asking that as a quiz, or are you just looking for opinions? And regarding the thread's question, doesn't anyone use Dow Theory(even applied to intraday charts) and old school TA anymore to identify trends and to trade within them?

Support & Resistance? Why do some work and some not?

Before you question the worth of a main component of TA, you should ask yourself if you have a sufficient knowledge of TA to where you can recognize what is and what isn't support and resistance. You may want to post 10 or more charts showing where you think support/resistance didn't work...

Support & Resistance? Why do some work and some not?

Why do some work and some not? More than the question of working or not, the proper identification of support and resistance should be of greater concern. I have so often seen what IMHO I feel is one basic misinterpretation of support and resistance that would lead to failed or missed trades...
