    Legal templates

That's basically what I want, not a very sophisticated thing, but I want to have it be very structured so that I can insulate myself from possible losses. The term "hedge fund" is very all encompasing. I just want a structure where I can sell interests and collect a management and performance fee.

    JPM Derivatives Monster

I'm just saying that I'm sure they've hedged most risk out. They just have been doing an awful job lately. In the last 18 mos. They've hit just about every financial iceberg out there. ENE, GX, WCOM, ARGENTINA, LATIN AMERICA in general, now ENE legal problems, Im sure there are others we...

Does anyone have a list of the various taxes in all states? Which states have taxes that are so low as to be negligable.

sunfair- that link is just to a personal injury lawyer. Anyone have any other good avenues? Who else has set up a fund himself?

    JPM Derivatives Monster

chasinfla- Lets assume that almost all are hedged out against each other for a net of almost no exposure, 700+/1 is huge, even if most are a nil, 25/1 is large... don't you think. Finally, as I showed in my 2 straight years of trisectas, these guys really aren't too intelligent in their risk...

    JPM Derivatives Monster

I have heard of this exposure in the past. I assumed that a lot of it was hedged against each other, and hence the net exposure was minimal. However after seeing JPM hit a trisecta last year in losses (GX, ENE, Argentina) and how they're on path to hit another trisecta this year (ENE again it...

    What has been working well?

Hmmm, Look at those half dozen examples that I posted at the start of this current thread. They should show you a cross section of the types of trades I do. Once you're long, set a price objective and start selling a few k shares every dime up, or whatever works best for you. Use a trailing stop...

    What has been working well?

I'm sorry that it is so long. Most of the setups there are over a year old, so you'll have so scroll back a bit in the charts. As you look, see how my real time setups worked, (most were EXTREMELY profitable). I think it's the overall methodology though that's the key.

    What has been working well?

Do a search of GNP (great new pattern) on elitetrader.

    What has been working well?

GNP is working like a charm. I made about 20% in the last two weeks alone. Just look at charts of SEE, OCA, MWY, MGL and JWL. (long JWL currently for a second try). (Short OCA currently after being long)

    Legal templates

I asked this in another forum, but didn't receive many responses. Does anyone out there know of where I can get templates of the legal documents necessary to send out to perspective partners in my hedge fund that I'm starting. I want something where I can change a few details, but essentially...

    Surviving the market CNBC

Babak, you're more right than you can imagine. CNBC sux. I guess that I'm the only one who wants it to just be the fleck and herb hour. I guess I can still get them on TSCM.

    Surviving the market CNBC

Whole series was stupid. They had this lady who lost all her money b/c she was on margin. Thing is she left a well paid job to daytrade. Why do they keep having these idiots on TV who can't cut it? Why don't they instead of putting fund managers on who are down 30% for advice, they put on some...

    auditing your returns

I talked to one. He said it would be much cheaper if I found some examples to replicate. Thanx though. I'll keep looking. You've really been a saint on all this in finding info.

    auditing your returns

Aaron- Where did you get the templates that you used for your regulatory filings? (Limited partnership agreement, Disclosure Document, Exemption Statement, Confidential Offering Questionaire). I would like to use a version of them that is appropriate for equities and then make the appropriate...

Sorting out for good values WMB...

As per insider action, both dyn and wmg have had some small insider buying in the last 6 mos. It's not enough to make it a clear buy signal like some other stocks that I watch, but it's not really significant selling.

Sorting out for good values WMB...

I'd like to hear some feedback here too. It seems that it's a liquidity crunch. Just look at the sp downgrade of debt recently. I have to think that assets are worth more than the share price. It has a lot of debt due pretty soon. I don't think anyone will be able to refinance them on good terms.

    How much longer for CNC

Guess I was 2 days early. DYN/WMB are other candidates for immediate removal. At this rate, they won't have 500 stocks that are big enough to be in the index.

    How much longer for CNC

No stock has ever remained in the SP500 after it lost $1. Almost no stocks have stayed in after loosing the $2 mark. CNC lost a dollar. How much longer do you think it can remain in the sp? Anyone think the company can even survive? For that matter, what are the odds on LU? Which do you think...
