SVXY is tracking the same index. Why didn't it get liquidated? As far as I am concerned, the product which has to be liquidated due to market conditions is flawed from the start. The issuer should have known better to manage the risk. After all, they were receiving fees from investors.

There is a risk of holding position intraday also. The fund is down 9% today intraday, more than the underlying futures. Nothing to do with holding positions overnight. The issue is the liquidation. How is it different from a hedge fund which blew investors money and was forced to shut down...

This is just a warning to investors of the risks, not a ban on holding positions overnight, and that does not release them from obligation to use a proper risk management themselves to avoid a blow up. Unless shutting down the etn at some point was in their plans all along.

Interesting. Do issuers of securities have the authority over actions of investors? I couldn't find such a directive in their prospectus. Do you mind to provide exact quote...

What's the point of creating a product that's designed to fail? How is it different from Madoff scam? Or a hedge fund which blew investors money? Onl a few lucky ones would survive. Only CS is a guaranteed winner. Makes me wonder if they even feel bad. Are they going to miss their brainchild?

There is no point of creating a product and catering it to people in order to dispose of it after a short while. This is what scammers usually do. What if the product just started trading a day before? It would have disappeared virtually overnight. Shame on all involved. Why is it down today...
