Please tell me the term for......

I agree with you 100%, and that is why I previously said that often being whipsawed is the disadvantage to this tactic. Also, being able to read the trend, potential breakout, and recognizing a false breakout will eliminate the need to use this type of tactic. Glad to see that there are two of...

Please tell me the term for......

The following are replies I made to 1245's comments: [....one use is simply to enter both sides at an important price level and then exit one position based on the following price movement. It's mainly used to avoid missing a strong move away from or through such price levels after which there...

Please tell me the term for......

What you still do not understand is that all I wanted to know was what you call it in the English language. Please read the above sentence 10 times, and if you still do not understand it, call me in the morning.

Please tell me the term for......

Having been at it for 40 years I think I understand trading. It was the English language term for that type of position that I was asking for.

Please tell me the term for......

That's what I was looking for. Thank you very much, NoBias.

Please tell me the term for......

Thank you. Actually more than a type of order, I was looking for the term for this type of position. While I thought of straddle it really doesn't fit as you would be buying both a put and call rather than buying and selling a put/call.

Please tell me the term for......

I wonder if the term 'straddle',as used with options, would be correct?

Please tell me the term for......

The commission is very small, and the margin is the same as it would be for a one sided position.

Please tell me the term for......

This came up last night in a discussion about trading tactics when a non-native English speaker asked me what you call it in English. I only trade on reactions so I don't know, but as I remember he places a stop loss order for each position which often eliminates missing an entry due to the time...

Please tell me the term for......

It's mainly used to avoid missing a strong move away from or through such price levels after which there is no reaction on which to enter.

Please tell me the term for......

Thank you. But rather than a wash sale one use is simply to enter both sides at an important price level and then exit one position based on the following price movement.

Please tell me the term for......

Would someone please tell me the term in English for holding both a long and short position at the same time in a futures contract. I realize this may not be allowed by some exchanges or brokers but is allowed where I am. Thank you.

Hi, Am always interested in something new to trade. But having seen so many new listings never get off the ground, it's just wait and see. Are you interested in it due to dissatisfaction with the Nikkei for some reason?

    Reuters Eikon $150

A word of caution. I don't know if it's true for futures contracts worldwide, but for Japanese futures Reuters includes rollover prices and volume with actual trades. This, of course, makes proper analysis, backtesting and trading impossible. And there's no reason for it as the rollover data is...
