Question to all the Price Action Expert

What you are doing is trying to force an answer from those who use PA/TA based on a situation that you have selected, rather than one that the trader would actually select based on his analysis and plan. The purpose of TA, and its success, is to identify situations which will work out in the...

Wedge " pattern development " and explanation .....

What is commonly called a wedge is simply a trend channel in which the return line tends to converge with the trend line. And while various price action may take place before the breakout, such is not required for the breakout to be valid, as I seem to understand you feel is. And, IMHO, you may...

Wedge " pattern development " and explanation .....

By your description I think you will find that to be what is commonly called an ascending triangle, IMHO.

What kind of Edge you have?

Ah, you mean the sweater that I had knitted with my favorite pattern, a flag, embroidered in it.

What kind of Edge you have?

Sorry that I wasn't clearer. By 'any day' I guess I should have said that you can find such basic 100+ year old price movement every day on 1 and 5 min. charts in stocks, futures etc. but obviously not on fly-specked charts or in stocks/futures that are trading in very narrow ranges. Of course...

What kind of Edge you have?

As I said I don't trade ES, so I don't have access to a chart that would show the volume, which may add to the signal to exit. And further, I trade using various tick charts which will give more accurate entry and exit points. My point was to show that using the 5 or 1min charts that you...

What kind of Edge you have?

I don't trade ES, but what if you had sold ES last Friday at around 2073 at 09:50 based on the price movement on this 5min chart? Just one very basic price movement that you can find any day, now or 100 years ago, and in any time frame, in futures, stocks, currencies etc.

What kind of Edge you have?

I would just say price movement as a whole, but by the categories you have set up, it would fall into price action and patterns. Not sure how price action and price movement differ though.

What kind of Edge you have?

My edges are just those that have existed since the very beginning of price movement 100+ years ago.

    Need some professional advice

I think it's the Chinese influence from long ago in this part of the world where red represents good fortune, happiness and the like. Thus red for up. In Japan it's red for up and green for down. On another note, from what I've seen in a number of threads I think you are wasting your time...

    Starting my own hedge fund

Sorry, my question is off the subject but you would be the one to know. Are brokers trading futures for their own accounts and MM's bound by SPAN the same as retail traders? I would think they are, but maybe at a lower rate. Thank you.

    Have Markets Really Changed ?

Have Markets Really Changed ? Well, for one thing, in the attached chart of the Greece index, it looks like the 100+ year old Dow Theory Reversal pattern works as well as ever. The Greeks who couldn't read it went up the Greek without a paddle!

    Are Trading Books Useless ?

Thank you for reminding me that I have both of Hill's books that I read in the late '70's or so. I'm sure I'm still using some of what he taught, and will now reread them as I feel his type of analysis may be quite useful in my tick charts also. As you, I also started out with Magee's book, and...

Is this stock coming back down?

You've started a large number of threads asking such questions. I and a few others have tried in vain to tell you that doing this is going to get you nowhere, and that the only road is to devote at least a year or two to the study of TA. Once you have at least a basic knowledge of TA, people...
