Weekly Poll: Market Is Flat Year-To-Date, Where To Next?

"..., the hedge fund manager who sold half his equity holdings at the start of July, said today that signs the U.S. economy will avoid a recession spurred him to build the stakes back up. " He sold at the exact bottom, and bragged about it (he did not know it was the bottom on the day of his...

Weekly Poll: Market Is Flat Year-To-Date, Where To Next?

Why are they buying? I have hard time understanding why someone would buy stocks after they have risen, and was avoiding them just few days ago.

3:28PM: is it the end of the upmove and the beginning of a retreat?

Weekly Poll: Market Is Flat Year-To-Date, Where To Next?

I second your proposal shortie. I would however add a question or change your question to something like: SPY will touch X before Y this month or week/etc. That is more meaningful for traders. X reflects the reward, and Y reflects the risk (where stops are to be placed).

Weekly Poll: Will Buyers Knocked Out By Expiration Put Up A Fight?

Thanks Piezoe. Very clear writing and thinking. I follow EUR/USD (in fact I trade it), and I have observed what you wrote. Moreover, there are nuances in what you wrote that lead to some new insight for me. In relation to EUR/USD, I have this comment. When it rises for instance, it could be...

Weekly Poll: Market Is Flat Year-To-Date, Where To Next?

Market retreated to the area of the open. A heavy hitter (Shortie?) who likes dips seems to be buying and supporting this market. Shortie: if it is you, stop buying dips and let others live a little bit :)

Weekly Poll: Market Is Flat Year-To-Date, Where To Next?

SPY at 111.07, and QQQQ at 46.25. Is it the area of the end of this move? Market is getting close to 0.50%

Weekly Poll: Market Is Flat Year-To-Date, Where To Next?

Shortie and others: Above is currently the precise top for this evening's session. It has retreated by 4 points as of now (Nasdaq-100). I am kicking myself for not shorting it- I should quit trading, as I do not take signals. Did anyone short it?

Weekly Poll: Market Is Flat Year-To-Date, Where To Next?

My calculations last Friday told me that a rise of 0.5% is where I could fade market. I checked futures. Nasdaq-100 are in that range, up 8 points, so within a point or two from the 0.5% rise (if close is the same as where I did not numbers). What do you think of the case of shorting it...

Where do wealth/growth actually come from?

I am surprised no one has yet asked this question: Suppose that an economy has doubled (not in money terms) but in actual things that are produced and that no new money is printed. Should we not see the value of the money rise (double) relative to the things being produced, or put another way...

Weekly Poll: Market Is Flat Year-To-Date, Where To Next?

    1. Would the military exercises in Korean peninsula have any effects on the market? 2. Shortie: you used to collect poll results from another site. What happened to that practice? 3. I started a new thread, so for my friends on this thread, you are invited to stop by. It is on the topic of...

Weekly Poll: Market Is Flat Year-To-Date, Where To Next?

This coming week could be critical. For the bulls, it has to move up, while for the bears it does not have to move down. This is not a bear market, but it could become one. I would be surprised if the upside is more than ~ 7% for the rest of the year. The latest bottom is also about ~7% away...

United Nations Names Team To Probe Israel's Attack On Peace Flotilla

United Nations Names Team To Probe Israel's Attack On Peace Flotilla. A victory for Turkey. Israel has been holding the ships ever since. I would however predict Israel would release the ships soon to avoid that the UN team visits the ships and asks questions.

Beck: Good for Jews that Jesus didnt come for payback

The latter part is in contradiction with the day of Judgment. Also, people are curious by nature, and would look for facts, not to blame anyone but to know the truth.

Beck: Good for Jews that Jesus didnt come for payback

Are you really thinking that there are people who believe that Jesus did not exist, and was not an actual human being who lived, ate, drank, etc? Theories can also be tools to achieve other aims.
