Why are they buying? I have hard time understanding why someone would buy stocks after they have risen, and was avoiding them just few days ago.

I second your proposal shortie. I would however add a question or change your question to something like: SPY will touch X before Y this month or week/etc. That is more meaningful for traders. X reflects the reward, and Y reflects the risk (where stops are to be placed).

This coming week could be critical. For the bulls, it has to move up, while for the bears it does not have to move down. This is not a bear market, but it could become one. I would be surprised if the upside is more than ~ 7% for the rest of the year. The latest bottom is also about ~7% away...
