Weekly Poll: Market Is Flat Year-To-Date, Where To Next?

Thank you shortie.. I did not. I understand from your response that the regular props do not offer options as part of the arsenal, and that you may have a feeling that I use them in my trading. Do people in here deal with retail/non professional traders, or run funds?

Weekly Poll: Market Is Flat Year-To-Date, Where To Next?

You did not mention Thursday, which I would also add to Friday in the "confused" category (I use the word confused for days like this Thursday and Friday---Friday my posts starting on Wednesday night which used the word "confused"). Actually this week was great for my style of trading and my...

Weekly Poll: Market Is Flat Year-To-Date, Where To Next?

    1. I never check economic reports during the trading day, always the next day. What did they say about them? What are the numbers? 2. This is some unusual action in the market. It goes with the "confusion" hypothesis I put forth two days ago. 3. VIX is not running high, and bulls are...

Weekly Poll: Market Is Flat Year-To-Date, Where To Next?

Excellent! I noticed a move in EUR/USD, and I stayed until I saw the break on the way down of 1.30. It came down from a fail to break back above 1.31. It was beautiful to watch! I could see in the price the traders doing their things---including each man for himself. Good to exchange with you!

Weekly Poll: Market Is Flat Year-To-Date, Where To Next?

The merit of the arguments you made is that they are fundamental sound. However, this does not mean they can make money, or that the market does not do the opposite or remain defiant. The last three days showed a disconnect between reality and that theory. I know that one can argue that if the...

Hardest and Most Valuable Things In Trading

If any of my posts come across as rude, it is not intentional. I was just trying to understand the response, and point out something that did not seem to be correct. Jack: could you take the lead and explain the 50/50, and/or answer my question/concerns? I do not know who burb is?

Are you sure about the 50/50? When you decide it is tail or head? I have a number of chapters written of a book, and one of the chapters addresses this problem.

Weekly Poll: Market Is Flat Year-To-Date, Where To Next?

I am more concerned about a sharp rise tomorrow, so I hope you will be right so that I can hedge to neutral and reverse if needed, as I have some shorts. A sharp rise would make sense to confuse the bears now that the bulls are "confused"?

Kmax: 1. What makes you think there is anyone in here who knows anything about markets? :) 2. I am glad you have an IRA. I hope it has a million eggs in it already, and if not sometime soon. Do you have options privileges in your IRA? I assume you mean the homebuilding stocks and not...

You should be in awe of the call because it was a great spot to cover! There is one little detail though: what if you are the mover of the market? Did you grow feathers lately by any chance when others were being plucked? :-) It is a great great call. You could have gone long. Congrats!

    1. If you wrote take profits at break of 110.50, I would have started to think you are reading my mind, but you are getting close. Good call! Now should we short the rally as it gets near 111? :) 2. I have found out why people were very bullish after monday's close, and on Tuesday's open. Do...

Let me then ask a non-option related question if you do not mind. Could you please answer one of these 2 questions, and if your time allows allows for answering both it would really great: 1. I read that trading is similar to/same as coin flipping if I were to hire a monkey to do the...
