whatever you trade, if you don't follow USDJPY, you may get chopped

Why would these funds not simply shift the borrowing to USD, by shorting USD/JPY? Would that not solve the problem, and if yes the effect on assets would not there?

whatever you trade, if you don't follow USDJPY, you may get chopped

Please explain your points as they seem to be inconsistent. USD/JPY has been declining which means that people are NOT borrowing JPY but rather covering their debt in yen. Is this your point? In addition JPY and Pound are not in the same case. Britain defended from weakness, while Japan wants...

Weekly Poll: SPY Is Stuck at 110

What is the chance of this: The effect of the news after the open cancelling the effects of the news before the open. Did you notice the RedBook at the center ? :-) . Traders hate redbooks.

    Vix Down 21.90-22

I do NOT think highly of Larry McMillan. He is a regurgitator, and lacks insight. He is way over rated. If he were good, he would not be allocating his time to working for marketwatch, and editing his books and sites. I also removed link to marketwatch, because if you were to comment on their...

Weekly Poll: SPY Is Stuck at 110

It seems to me that market acted as if waiting for some news tomorrow? Any Fed meeting, or any major news coming soon? My reading of it is: if news is good then gap up and then down. If news is "bad" then down with possible trap for bears who would short on move/gap down?

    Vix Down 21.90-22

I thought back in April it was lower (below 15?). Check April 23. Do you have a chart?

What if it is a move down to create space in case of a move up?

Weekly Poll: SPY Is Stuck at 110

It might mean that sellers of premium are more cautious today than they were last Friday, maybe concerned of a retreat later today or tomorrow to close the gap. My reading of it: cautiously bullish, similar to my comment about trust of this bull leg.

Firm that offers low low commissions and takes a % payout

Bullshit. I can explain why it is bullshit, but I believe you already know it is true. If so, is there another reason for the look down on the 5K? If I had a company of that sort, I would actually require that newcomers do not deposit more than $5K, and first show me they can make money on...

Firm that offers low low commissions and takes a % payout

Maverick: I just read your latest post on Don Bright. How come you look down on a deposit of 5k? You wrote "We do that". Who is the "we"? What is your terms? Does anyone know more about this Maverick74? The words the person uses in his posts and the post demeanors raise question marks.

Weekly Poll: SPY Is Stuck at 110

Is it trustworthy? With today's move if it is a bull leg, people would start buying retreats. I am however not trusting this one--based on my feelings only (which is what Shortie may refer to as intuitive trading?). If we get a selloff today, I would be waiting to buy at the close of the gap...

Weekly Poll: SPY Is Stuck at 110

Happy BD! Enjoy your day. It comes only once a year. :) EUR/USD is getting close to 1.32 from where it fell during its crisis. It is 11:30ish. Let us see if market will react at the same time as EUR/USD.

Weekly Poll: SPY Is Stuck at 110

Thanks for your detailed response Piezoe. Do you follow Ioo? (The 100 worldwide top companies EFT). I was actually thinking about the inflation and equities for long term, and was pondering what one might have achieved by selling option premium (puts) on an inflation vehicle (gold?), and...

The Cost of Losses--Options or stop losses-- which are better?

Assume trading sessions and/or no gaps to make things simpler. The question is to compare costs of options vs. stop loss. Any answer other than there is no gap (which would be circular reasoning)?

The Cost of Losses--Options or stop losses-- which are better?

Why? Is the cost the same?

    Greece Truck Drivers Strike

Mithos: "I think the next two years will be very telling for both types of policies - countries that are experiencing austerity, and those (US, Japan) that choose to inflate away." If you have to bet, which way you would go? I think that Europe (particularly UK) is similar to Japan and...

Is the American Empire on the brink of a swift and total collapse?

The chinese will then sell at the bottom. Do not underestimate the American. No one can beat Americans in games they invented, and excel in. Did you check what happened to Gold price recently?

DEBT? What debt? How can the US ever theoretically have a debt problem?

"That's obviously false": why? Consider the case where the world is leveraging. There could be demand for US debt, not because they want it, but because they need it.

DEBT? What debt? How can the US ever theoretically have a debt problem?

Third world world currencies are not reserve currencies, and are not the unit of exchange in commodity prices. The dollar does not have those two problems. Think about it a bit more.

    Trader Vic:Hyperinflation is definitely coming

I was thinking the same thing, then I thought that Vic either does not trade or already knows it, and possibly hoping that this TV appearance would lead some selling of bonds that would allow a chance to get out if he shorted bonds. Notice some unease and the mention of "bonds are for...
