What is the best approach for this trade ?

While you guys are all debating how many bearish put spreads can dance on the head of a pin, Mr etrades here lost an opportunity to buy a 2930 call for ~$3.00 all day long. Could've bought the 2930/35 spread for ~60¢ midday. Either one would've completely wiped out any chance for a loss from his...

    Long Index components, short index.

In all seriousness, I would nominate, Butt-Sniffing The Dogs Of The Dow. Sounds like a winner, to me -- but you could actually back-cast this one, and see how you'd've done. I'll stay tuned to this thread with interest. And, if you copyright my nomination? Send me dollar, will ya...

    The Big Potus Short

WOW. That's trashy, and way below what I think of as MarketWatch-worthy. This boob apparently never heard of price elasticity (micro), nor of a multiplier effect (macro), nor of deadweight loss (gen eq.) -- all of which magnify and focus this 'trivial tax'..... What an idiot. How did that make...

    Spread Combo Names

You're missing nothing at all. It is an annoyance and a distraction, unless you work to have your TWS set up specifically to go one way or the other. (And yet, you can't do anything about the writing of it, or the conversations you'll get into, where you have to listen closely to the...

    Spread Combo Names

Think about buying a bullish put, and selling a bearish put. Toe-may-toe, toe-Ma-toe. Just an artifact of construction. If I followed your post correctly, take a look at the pricing, as well: you should see the spread contract pricing reverse signs. That's where the *real* difference lies. ;)

    The Big Potus Short

"To the YouTuber video author..." Ya think?!?!? Eric and DonnJr. are ostracized from The White House grounds 11 months after the Inauguration of Stable Genius, and then suddenly bi-directional volatility POPS into the market. :wtf: We ain't heard from Eric or DonnJr since -- except for...

DeepMind's Losses and the Future of Artificial Intelligence

Errrrr -- Nowhere did I make such a statement. You have drawn that inference all on your own -- from the same pissy black well from which you've sought to attack guru. Sad, that. About a quarter of your posts show real insight and knowledge-born-of-experience. Which leaves 3/4s being vacuous...

What is the best approach for this trade ?

First, your maximum loss for the two contracts above is a finish between 2935 and 2936.30. Second, I wouldn't do anything without knowing the position greeks, which are absent. That said, your ES delta will be teensy, so there's no rush. Third, I would first consider buying a call below 2936...

DeepMind's Losses and the Future of Artificial Intelligence

The movie was quite topical, stemming from a scifi piece from 1969. Don't know where you were. https://m.imdb.com/title/tt0212720/ Sorry, dude. You're Deep-Wrong at this point. I entered grad school in the early 80s, and machine learning was A Thing then. First semester's Math Econ. Learn or...

Does IB offer ticker chart for e-minis?

IB made their bones serving institutional traders first and foremost. Retail remains an afterthought. With that, few institutionals (and for that matter, lesser hedgies/semi-retail/solo-traders) are going to want the breadth that IB offers, AND need tick-by-tick data. If they do? They know to...

Stay or take money and Run?

Just working the original greeks, I would've jumped -- that $100 theta is matched to a $300+ dollar vega going the other way. But the reason I'm posting is that the risk graph you're showing seems awfully broad, and awfully *flat* -- and seems SO flat that it would be easy to justify staying...

I'm still cracking up about the "Who's the biggest threat to the U.S. economy -- Powell or Xi?" tweet from the guy who apparently can't look into a mirror and see himself. Ohhhhhhhmy gawddddd. Just imagine him looking at the market reaction -- "Ohhhhh, Irony! OH, BITTER Irony!!!"

    Brave Browser, Anybody Using?

Huh! Never heard of it. Have avoided Microbloat since... forever? Been a Firefox user -- I don't remember any issues over the years. Just updated three computers with the latest/greatest. The whole "Chrome"/Google connection is worrisome, though -- security-wise. And then, my memory tells me...
