Buying nice clothes is smart-- says study

I'm with ya ("Yer gonna run *how*far*?? I don't like to *drive* that farrrrrr!"), except that I discovered the *wonder* of the velcro sport band. WOW. Lighter-than-snot, and lasts and lasts. Couldn't find one this last time 'round, and the replacement looks more like 'original equipment' -- I'm...

And here I sit with my ancient Timex Ironman -- my second, after the first one went 20 years or so.... (a bunch of batteries, 3 "sport-duty" wristbands, and the casing worn so much that you had to have *memorized* the buttons, as there were no identifiers left)..... The first one, I paid...

TRIN (or ARMS) Index (TRIN-IBIS@IBIS) Displaying Crazy values

Here's a bit of truth that you already know, but perhaps want someone else to say: the TRIN is made of four parts -- that make up two ratios into a larger ratio. a/b // c/d. A little algebra will gives you a/c // b/d. that leaves the initial (cited) value *unchanged.* *That* means that those two...

Buying nice clothes is smart-- says study

(Being a 250k 240GL owner before being a Suby owner, I'm way sympathetic...!) As an economist, I "total" the car -- assume it's un-useable without the repair. What would my next purchase be? If a similar Suby needed a new engine ($1500 Japanese Domestic Market; installed) and a full set of...

And in the other direction......... 90% of my socks (those unrelated to hiking or running) are black Gold Toe from Kohls (are they still around??) my latest pair of pants are from Menards, cost $8, and had sand in the pockets. yes, absolutely, cheap-ass peanut butter. Implied Volatility Percentage / Rank through IB API?

It'll add to your work, but the weeklies and month-end really add to things -- very different market agendas at work -- visible through both the IV and daily volume (and OI, for that matter...). I've been doing biggly-huge hours the past few weeks, rebuilding a spreadsheet kind-of starts out...

Buying nice clothes is smart-- says study

This conversation makes me think we all belong around a big table with a healthy supply of beer. (Not to beat on the theme or anything, but as I'm reading everyone's thoughts, I keep hearing chatter and the steady clinking of glasses around me........ Can you hear it? Can you hear it?)

Implied Volatility Percentage / Rank through IB API?

If you're working an API, wouldn't computing HV30, IV%, and/or IV-Rank be trivial operations? Personally, I'd be more comfortable with my own, taking the input data from the most un-doctored inputs as were available. Maybe you're not going that deep?

TRIN (or ARMS) Index (TRIN-IBIS@IBIS) Displaying Crazy values

Yep! You're right: 4-hour candles. Well, regardless, I wouldn't worry: you can't look or trust anything til SundayPM at the earliest. Do yourself a favor, though: put up TRIN-NYSE before you get too bent. That'll give you a pretty read-out. You can then compare what you see to TRIN-NASD and...

    equilibria vs. disequilibria

A couple of thoughts on your excellent topic.... ** Time = Money = Energy = Mass*C². ** LIFE is curveilinear -- while humans have struggled to evolve a fair degree of *linear* pattern recognition. ** "Cultural Overlay" -- that morass of thinking that separates our cognition from reality -- the...
