tide easing out before the 1pm ET AAPL storm drops from the tree

Well, so much for the big (mis-)read!!! Ah, well. Got some stuff moved that really needed moving, anyway. But it's out to Oct20, $10-wide at 2555 and 2410. ("That's right, Your Honor. This man has no dick.")

tide easing out before the 1pm ET AAPL storm drops from the tree

You know what? I haven't even watched it! SHEEEESH. I'm all SPX-ish, so I guess that's okay, but that should've been my number one move, right? Okay... big Fail on that one. 90 minutes to go.

Whoops. Should've offered, "Yipes!" as a response. That would be my choice.

tide easing out before the 1pm ET AAPL storm drops from the tree

[so, like, how many analogies can *you* abuse??] Well, in ES futures land, the volume and the motion looks pretty sketchy. My read? A big ol' calm before the AAPL storm, and most probably a material jump higher. (Like, another 1% across-the-board day, fercrisakes.) I *ain't* looking forward...

    What benefit is predicting volatility?

When you listen to the news, you are seeking to predict volatility. So, "What benefit is there to listening to the news?"

The reason I dont use any indicators

Indicators are tools. If you know how to use them, they rock. But a sculpter with a screwdriver will do a better job than a noob with the sharpest chisel. (And neither the chisel nor the screwdriver care a whit about who uses them or whether they are being used "correctly.")

Do trading education scammers (99.99% of the "industry") ever feel guilty?

Ehhhh, no. Hey, really not trying to pick a fight here, *nor* trying to defend anyone/anything not first supported by evidence ("Evidence!?! Whut's that???") But by prior statements, Gotcha, you're not an options trader. By the statement above, you think in linear terms. There is nothing linear...

Do trading education scammers (99.99% of the "industry") ever feel guilty?

Uh-ohhhhhh. I've got to move on to other tasks but, I have to evince two principles that no one should be without ("a'round these 'ere parts...") 1) All trading results are net of commissions. No excuses. (No. Stop. No excuses.) 2) All trading results should enunciate clearly between trading...

Do trading education scammers (99.99% of the "industry") ever feel guilty?

The answer to your question is in one of your earlier posts: "Ultimately, if you want to be a trader making a few thousand every day, you gotta be able to also lose a few thousand every day and not have this affect you one bit. If you can't see the mentor doing this live, and not having this...

I'm looking for a GOOD charting package... any ideas?

That sounds like a video RAM kinda thing -- I'd check out your Task Manager for resource usage -- I'll bet there's some good clues there. Or in the performance "preferences" areas. But that's not any sort of TWS effect in 11 years of usage over ≥3 systems. Hell, I just swapped monitors yesterday...

Do trading education scammers (99.99% of the "industry") ever feel guilty?

Yeah you do; and yeah, you did. You (and others) should think about this before posting something like you (all) have: "Exactly what business model would *I* operate under, had I the skills and testicular capacity to teach or offer 'signals'?" Earlier today, I wandered over to KKs site, and...

I'm looking for a GOOD charting package... any ideas?

In both Linux and W7 (and going way way back, W-XP), monitors have been numbered 1, 2, 3, with the designation being your (my!) choice. Makes me wonder if there's not a software switch you've missed somewhere. (Or whether some GPU software isn't messing with you? Ugh!) Mebbe...

I'm looking for a GOOD charting package... any ideas?

What do you mean by "secondary monitors"?? FWIW, I have run TWS on a 3-screen system, via Linux and then W7, for years without any issue. (If that helps...!)

Do trading education scammers (99.99% of the "industry") ever feel guilty?

It's obvious from just this thread that you won't satisfy everyone. :banghead: "Fo' sho'" and all that. Of the small set that I have taught "trading" -- success of any kind was immediately met with intellectual laziness, skepticism of my entreaties for caution, and then, failure (bad...

Do trading education scammers (99.99% of the "industry") ever feel guilty?

Great thread -- sorry I missed it. Pursuit, I have worn out my finger with hitting Like on your posts. That's a first for me. But here's where I'll generate flames from some: I love teaching. I have taught Backpacking ("Long distance -- not this 40lb Weekend Warrior REI catalog shit)...

    Vertical Spread Max Loss Question

Is that an European sparrow? Or an African sparrow? It makes a difference. Thus: OR, you could go to your option chain(s), but a vertical together, and observe for yourself.
