No. I spelled it out above what I am looking for. I would say a successful candidate would go up (gain money) over time, but when the shit hits the fan and the stock market starts crashing it tends to move the other way. Again, I spelled it out up above.

Got it, will try ZN, results coming right up. SQQQ will never work because they are basically perfectly inverse and your return will just drop all the way down to almost nothing. No drawdown, but no return either.

Following up on my thread regarding investments with a negative or low beta versus the stock market. zghorner suggested the VIX, but in my testing (I tested various percentages of a portfolio on QQQ, the remainder in VIXY, which is a VIX tracker), while it offsets the losses some, it crushes...

I don't think many dividend growers have negative beta compared to the stock market generally, I bet the vast majority of them have a pretty strong positive beta (less than 1 obviously in the vast majority of cases, but still well above 0 I bet in most cases).

I see what you are saying. I was just hoping for an investment that had a negative beta and turned a profit, even if a VERY SMALL profit. Heck, maybe even a small loss would be fine if it had a negative enough beta.

I want something that very likely goes up, or at least falls very little, when the stock market falls. And that over time is profitable. Anyone got any ideas? Thank you.
