Oh I agree 100%. I'm doing back-testing, trying to anyways. But I agree one cannot rely on that, its just for fun really. I really plan on selling call it just 1 option each week over the course of the year to see the results.

Well, that ROI might be wrong. The return aspect of it is correct, but not sure the denominator aspect is correct. Will try and come up with a better number.

Just ran some back-testing on this. I should be making about 59% a year doing this on average over the long term. Nice little ROI there LOL....

What I would like to know is this: When the SPX was down ~25% from its high, as it is now, in 2008 what was the VIX then? I bet it was higher than the very low 30s...

Something is wrong, very wrong. Total route on Wall Street today and the VIX is up 0.16%? Somebody is playing games. Stock market is getting KILLED, VIX should be at like 45 minimum now, hell, it should probably be closer to 60. Its insane how bad it is out there...

Yea, I just mean this is an experiment and I don't want to scale in too fast and essentially have to stop selling on further downs because I risk going broke. But very little risk of that given short 7 day expiration so I see your point! My GOD I wished I had not lost all my money in the 2008...
