Book quote: never ask a trader if he is profitable!

As I recall... You would consider financially backing up: - A stranger who posted a story on an anonymous forum - One who claimed to be 22 year old but already with 16000 hour of screen time - One who claimed to have a profitable trading strategy (on paper) but no money to trade...

Hmmm.... I wasn't thinking of the longer term analysis. I was only refering to Friday's chart (7/16/10). When the market (Dow/ES) broke Thursday's low, cut like a knife... how far will price likely go? I have drawn the markers on the chart already. Mirror! (Measured move). Note ES...

Scaling in/out: Crutch for the Weak

You said: If you average down and average up, then your average price will in all likelihood equal your initial price over your trading lifetime - what was achieved? And if your initial buys were well-timed, then scaling in will only hurt your profits. if your initial buys were well-timed...

Buying a new Trading PC.... this is whats in my shopping cart and cyberpowerpc

Does the price include the operating system? (Windows is what I assumed you want to run...) Personally I like HP/Compaq boxes. I had a few of them before and they did not disappoint me. Here is a box for $899 from HP online. HP Pavilion Elite HPE-350t series. Processor: Intel(R)...

This is the AAPL 42-tick chart on 7/16/10. Is that the whack-a-mole trade? Keep hitting it whenever the gopher pokes his head around the resistance 252.80? :D

Scaling in/out: Crutch for the Weak

This is great. Good for you. You are saying you can easily pick the exact top and the bottom to buy and sell. Buying 10000 shares of stocks in one shot... no problem. Easy fill.

I am very proud of you applying the concepts on Friday! :p I want to make 2 points today: 1) Matcha you use TradeStation. Take advantage of the large set of chart types. Play with some non time-based charts (RangeBar, Renko, Kagi and Line Break). Those charts are composed based on...

    suggestion on new pc

If you assemble your own PC, then definitely the motherboard is important. But if you go to Best Buy or Fry's to buy a PC, from HP, of e-machine, or Toshiba, do they list what kind/model of motherboard they have inside the box? What you are concerned is the available slot(s), how many USB...

Hmmmm.... I see that from the chart the scale goes from -100 (bottom) to 0 (top). Something wrong with the TradeStation's formula on %R.

    Top 10 Basic Math Indicators

I just created a simple 1-minute chart in TradeStation and inserted Stochastics (middle) and William %R (bottom) with all their default settings from TradeStation. They looked pretty much identical to me. Not sure if/what I might have done wrong.

    Top 10 Basic Math Indicators

Really? I failed to see how Williams %R can be a stochastics inverted. Inverted would mean they go in opposite directions. Both %R and Stochastics move up when price moves up. Here is a side-by-side on the 2 indicators from Investopedia:
