The second part: Do a Fib PROJECTION based on the retracement. That's your potential Second-Stage Run. A 16 point down run at 05:00 am, it can potentially run another 16 points down. (Dow 140-150 points?) You may not believe in Fibonacci analysis. And some in this forum dismissed it as...

8/6/10 Friday. ES dropped from 1127 to around 1111 at 05:00 am PDT. This was a drop of almost 16 points. This is quite *significant*. (Dow about 140-150 points). Anything that caused ES to drop 10+ points is significant. Especially in such a short duration. About 5 minutes. (Between 2...

    Six 22" monitor setup

30" monitor with just 1920x1200 resolution. I tell you from my experience... you are probably NOT going to like that. The monitors are too big to view close up and too grainly to display details. It is like watching your 50" TV from 3 feet away. Each of those 22" monitors is capable of...

Read again what I wrote about "2 stage" runs. Today's was an excellent example. Study them some more. I have a file called "Printing Money". It is that concept. Bank on a second one if the conditions are favorable.

Ha! We can trade info. WiFi - definitely at Pacific Coffee. Just not free. You need a day pass or something from the local carriers. Starbucks is the one I haven't tried. Good to know they do offer WiFi too. (and I guess not free)

RE: Wow! Thanks! I will definitely check them out! I have been to the SB Ocean Terminal one, always lots of people! Is there WIFI access in Starbucks Hong Kong too? Pacific Coffee Company: definitely WiFi. Not sure about Startbucks in Hong Kong. I don't think I had tried. But even if...

Remember what I said about "2 stage" run. Market had completed a 2-stage down run early in the morning. The chance for a big down side move is low. Then you know what to do... bet for a RTM with a stop.

I agree with Scataphagos that these "trading" computers made by EMC or XView or the likes tend to be priced much higher than what you can get if you build it yourself. Of course, that's their profit margin. Usually about 40% from what I estimated. I recently built a similar box to drive 8...

Matcha: I am not sure what kind of setups you were looking for everyday. But here is some food for thought. Especially in a range-bound kind of market that we are in today. You may want to consider some RTM (Return To Mean) kind of plays. The theory is that price moves are like a dog on a...

#1. Suggestions for you: The best "coffee shop" location(s) in Hong Kong IMO. Starbucks, Tsimshatsui, next to the New World Centre along the "Avenue Of The Stars". Go to the second floor balcony. You can be overlooking the Victoria Harbour and study your trading books all day, sipping...

Don't know what to say. The broad market has been bouncing in a fairly tight range for the past few days. What I said: many people are on vacation. I expect that the slowness will last until mid/late August. Unless there is some big news development that will steer the market.

    What should he do?

Tell him to give you the money. You open the brokerage account in your name. Let him have trading authority (power of attorney) so he can trade. But of course you will have the capital gain tax liability. And he needs to compensate you for your work/inconvenience. :)

Need to upgrade or replace trading computer!

Nice config Andy. I think it should work. As for the video cards, I have one comment: The 2 EVGA models that you showed both have onboard cooling fans. IMO cooling fan = #1. extra noise. #2. if/when the fan breaks, it will render your video card useless. I recommend looking at some...

Need to upgrade or replace trading computer!

Andy: I thought you were doing a budget build and have a preference on the AMD processor so I didn't comment earlier. I have recently built 2 desktops with Intel i7-930. With 6GB memory. Each is a little over $1000, not including the Windows OS. Here is the thread where you can find...

Marvelous (again) PO! Keep it up! Bear in mind though that you need to do better to be truly profitable because the rip size of S&P is about 2 points. You can easily get ripped out of your trades for 2 points each.

Indeed today was very bullish from the get go. If one does not catch it early, not much of opportunity. $TRIN below 0.5... do "long only". Look for a mid-day "scare" to long. At about 10:00 am there was one. But that was about it. Remember Friday's opening? 38% retracement. Bullish up...

I, crgarcia, posted profitable real-time trades. And I challenge frequent traders!

Why kill this thread? I mean... why kill *just* this thread? Maybe kill all similar threads started by crgarcia in the past year. There are more than a dozen of them. They are all the same. "Day Traders Are Losers". Yeah, I got the message a year ago. And maybe subject crgarcia to...

crgarcia reminds me of the Old Faithful geyser. He wakes up about once a week to two weeks, comes in and spews a bunch of "All Traders Are Losers" non-sense rapidly, then goes back to sleep. While he will not be missed... He will be back. :)
