How do you guys trade on tablet device? Did you find it better, or just more convenient on a tablet than on a laptop?

How Big Of A PSU Is Needed For A Trading Computer?

The interesting thing is a PSU of 400W and a PSU of 600W-700W are not that different in price, about $50 to $90. (And I haven't seen anything lower than 400W at the store) Some are higher in price. I always thought: why worry about $30-$40. Save myself some hessle for not getting enough...

steve jobs only 6 weeks to live?

He did. IMO not as much with ipod and iphone. Rather it was when he and Steve Wozniak created Apple II in late 70's, which led the way of the personal computer industry. Would you say this is of no real significance? He also led Pixar before returning to Apple. Pixar, the company that...

    Resetting the home router periodically

I kept heaing this 30km and wireless. 30km is roughly 18 miles. What does this distance measure?

    Building your own trading computer

Anybody who maybe interested in my lesson learned. Motherboard did not initialize because there are bent pins in the socket. (2 red arrows). The blue arrow: two more pins that may be problematic. I honestly don't know if this was a manufacturer's defect or not. I should have inspected...

    Resetting the home router periodically

I agree that in a perfect world, these routers shouldn't need to be reset and should work forever. (Just like what they said about Microsoft Windows.) But I also know in reality, any gadget that is programmed by human beings and has buffered data in its memory, over time it usually has some...

    Resetting the home router periodically

On the recent subject of routers... it is advisable to reset (probably power-reset) your home router from time to time. Maybe once a week. What I learned: I have a Netgear WNR1000 router at home, hooked up to a cable modem. I am going wifi from 2 of my desktop PCs to this router. When I...

The Most "Risky" & "Boring" Futures to Daytrade are...

Risky or boring, it's seasonal and environmental. They all have their days in the sun.

    Holiday Observation

I don't think so. While Nasdaq stocks and index futures etc. are traded in a different exchange, they all look at and sync up with the holidays observed by NYSE.

    Building your own trading computer

Update: Problem found. There are 2 slightly bent pins on the LGA 1366 socket. It darned on me that I never thought of inspecting the socket first before clamping down the processor. The motherboard did not even initialize. The CPU is good, memory clips are all good, video card good, power...

    Building your own trading computer

Thanks Scat. But at this stage, I haven't even been able to get into BIOS, let alone installing Windows. I only have the one display card inserted so far. I had tried all 6 slots (the MSI tech support guy said use the first x16 that is closest to the CPU... and I did). Nothing. I am...

    Building your own trading computer

WF: I called MSI tech support and that's what they suggested too. Insert only one memory clip at a time and test it out. I have 3 clips, 2GB each. Tried them all. Same issue. The status light kept displaying "FF".

    Building your own trading computer

I have decided to build the third i7 box. Sorry Went Fishing. I am so far kind of an Intel fan. And more than that this time I want to experiment with overclocking. (And I have no patience to wait for online orders. :) ) I bought a MSI Big Bang Xpower motherboard...

I need a new router, any advice appreciated.

I don't think this is something we as a home user need to worry about. It is the ISP's job. (Internet Service Provider. e.g. AT&T, Comcast, Verizon, etc.). On your home router, anything that is not inside your home network will be routed to the ISP's equipment. So if your ISP still support...

CNBC Guest alleges: NFLX Cooking the Books

I agree. Cook the book or not, NFLX is now at 246 - 247. The NFLX shorts are getting their balls squeezed.

I need a new router, any advice appreciated.

forsalenyc: what are your technical and budget requirements? Router prices vary by the technologies supported, number of ports available, and the wireless speed. Is this a setup for home (home-office)? Or for a small commercial office? I haver been using a Netgear WNR1000 wireless...

Lightweight LCD display device as second monitor

What you posted are interesting, easymon1. Thanks. They showed a small connector to connect to the LCD screen. I think what else is needed, is a video card (that will buffer up the bitmap image and generate whatever the signals are needed to light up the LCD grid). The video card will take...

    Matcha's Dow E-mini Journal

Matcha: I have seen you posted only the 1-minute intraday charts for YM on each day. I am not sure if you look at the higher time-frame for analysis. Here are my suggestions for you to think about. 1. Forget the notion of Al Brook's "bar by bar" analysis on a 1-minute chart. I know you...

Lightweight LCD display device as second monitor

Thank you both for the suggestions, dtrader98 and addias342. I should look into the details. I will be okay without a base. I can have some MacGyver kind of solutions to holding the monitor straight up. Looks like the newer LED mons are slimmer than the LCDs.
