    Why most traders are losers

I don't read every word on each post or every post in each thread so maybe I had missed something. From your very first post which started this thread, you said that you had made only 3 trades in the past 6 years. So you trade fewer than once in a full moon, if not once in a blue moon. So...

    Nexgen fraudsters

LOL! Thank you for the story! I would love to have talked to a salesman who dares to use such a tactic on me. Because I will tear him a new A hole. I rarely give out my real phone number so they can't call me. I knew I can always call them. One time a sales guy sent me e-mail scolding...

    Pristine Education

RE: Unfortunately, Velez is not with Pristine any more. I think it shoud be regarded as FORTUNATELY, Velez is not with Pristine any more. If you enjoy being kicked in the butt and be "motivated" like an equivalent of Tony Robbins pushing you in a seminar in trading, go and attend those...

    Injuries

I have met Sammy Chua back in early 2000's. He told his story that he learned how to trade stocks while he had leg injuries and had to recover in the hospital (and was bored) by reading many books and practicing. Subsequently he made over one million dollars in a year and started his trading...

    Dell P2210 vs Samsung 2243BWT

I think that is what's called the contrast ratio (I might be wrong). It's funny when I shop for a good TV or LCD monitor, I don't look for the ones with the brightest color/display. I look for the ones that have the darkest black (with the monitor turned on, of course).

    Hard core frugal livin' traders

I disagree with this. I believe that: you can have two jobs at once (or three, or more). You should have only one career. You will have priority conflicts. In the end you may fail miserably in both. A job is a job: exchange your labor (time) for money. Career should be something that you...

    Dell P2210 vs Samsung 2243BWT

I don't know what the differences are but you may want to consider Samsung 2243SWX. http://www.samsung.com/ca/consumer/detail/spec.do?group=computersaccessories&type=monitors&subtype=lcd&model_cd=LS22MYZKFV/XAA I picked up a few of them from the local Fry's Electronics for $179.99 plus tax...

    Multi-Monitor Vendors

Here is what I don't understand... Why would I want to buy a "quad-monitor stand", which stands on 2 pedestals, instead of using the pedestals that come with the LCD monitors? (Though I would have 4 pedestals) Spending an extra $500? Answer: To look neat. (Oh yeah, I always forgot...)

    Samsung 2343BWX for $199

I have some. The local Fry's Electronics have them on sale quietly for $199.99 each but enforce the "one per customer" policy. I picked up 5 of them. :D Along with some 2243 for my upgrade project. I love them. Putting Samsung side-by-side with a Viewsonic (which I like too), you can...

    USB based display adapters

I saw the package but when I read the spec, the supported resolution was only 1440 x ????? while the other ones are mostly 1600 x 1200 so I didn't buy it. I should give it a try. Thanks Ian!

To be a winner, do like winners: winners don't trade!

Also, I think you should study more on your supporting examples in your assertion. George Soros rose to fame from his overnight one billion dollar win against British Pound. He shorted the pounds. Shorting - is that what INVESTORS do? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/George_Soros Quote...

To be a winner, do like winners: winners don't trade!

Do you know how much those traders at Goldman Sachs make from their bonuses, which are based on their performance in TRADING? (They sure don't "invest".) http://online.wsj.com/article/SB124649352055183157-adfadsff.html Quote: Based on analysts' earnings forecasts for 2009, Goldman Sachs...

    Widescreen vs Square Monitors

I think resolution does matter. If you buy a 26-inch LCD monitor and the resolution is only 1680 x 1050, and you are sitting 2 feet away from the monitor... that is like in the old days of buying a 52-inch analog TV without the HDTV resolution. An enlarged, grainy picture. Apple does a good...

    USB based display adapters

Update: I switched to use a different USB port on my laptop. The display still flickers but not as often (may be once every 5 seconds, which is much better than every second). Still wish it doesn't flicker though.

    USB based display adapters

I just picked up a USB display adapter for my laptop to drive a third monitor. The make is: Diamond BVU160 USB Display Adapter It plugs in to the USB port. On the other end, it has a DVI/RGB outlet to plug in to the monitor. I found that the performance of this gadget is horrible...

    Widescreen vs Square Monitors

The old ones just sat on top of plastic trays that are designed to be placed on the top of CRTs. I used them for 2-3 years without problem. The new ones... I am strapping them down with tie-wraps.

    Widescreen vs Square Monitors

I resisted the new widescreen monitors (aspect ratio 16:9 instead of the conventional 4:3) at first. But it kind of grew on me. I like the widescreen monitors a lot now and don't want to go back. I am in the process of upgrading my old CRT and LCD monitors to the new widescreen ones. The...
