Gotta love ZERO RISK in the SP500 = $$$

That's another part of trading "modern markets." You have to know when its a short term trap - or fuck everyone over party. Your direction may be right but you're not going to get positioned without significant heat and if you instead try to circumvent it by anticipating the stop runs you can...

Gotta love ZERO RISK in the SP500 = $$$

The issue is that this market makes entries difficult a lot of the time. It's a "nobody wins" type situation due to algos attenpting to shake literally everyone but themselves out. So on a lower volume day it could end up being a chop fest and stop run party.

Gotta love ZERO RISK in the SP500 = $$$

Scratched out of my 2005 short, action is annoying and I'm not going to leave the trade on just to get stopped out in the early morning on some run up, Columbus Day notwithstanding.

IB Trades statement P&L in account currency not clear!

The reason it's difficult is because it's in a foreign currency - further complicated by cross-pairs. Not really an IB issue.

Gotta love ZERO RISK in the SP500 = $$$

Getting short here @ 2005. If I'm wrong and it takes off I'll revisit around 2020-2030. Also picked up a 6J Nov 0.00835 call, and in general I feel DX is going down to the 93.2 zone.

The Journey of Making a Living as a Professional Trader

I think its a more likely situation if one doesn't have the ability to either get out or hedge quickly. If one is sizing up because their account allows it - just follow your risk parameters. Biggest loss will most likely increase because account and position size has increased. However, if the...

Millionaire sports gambler explains why regular guys are getting fleeced playing daily fantasy sport

"It's a giant partnership between the pros and the sites, and the unsuspecting customers who are doing this for entertainment are literally getting fleeced." Sounds like the equity markets.

Gotta love ZERO RISK in the SP500 = $$$

I think one of the difficulties this year is in how ES has changed personalities continuously as various events have come up, sentiment and attitudes changing, and just plain market indecision. It can come across as schitzophrenic. One gets used to its personality and games and then next thing...

    think or swim problems

Sierra Chart and just do your trading directly from within it clearing IB. This presumes outrights and not options though.

    Interesting Messenger app for Traders

Hardly. ICE is doing the same thing: https://www.theice.com/technology/instant-message

Gotta love ZERO RISK in the SP500 = $$$

That's the problem with the typical retail mindset: it's 90% ego mixed with aversion to loss/being wrong (but ego overrides managing that loss and being wrong), with a healthy dose of FOMO. Once you get past all the bullshit the markets are much more simple than people imagine. At that point its...

    Ag trade ideas

To be honest there wasn't enough rationale to get into it. Seasonality basically but that's not really a good enough reason to be in this. Thankfully it's not a large position.

Gotta love ZERO RISK in the SP500 = $$$

Some of these guys are just insane perma-bears. They have 3 positions: flat, short, and pissed off. They'd be a lot happier if they realized the circus for what it actually is.

Is there a way to put a "Ignore" or "Block" Trolls from our Posts?

I think that's our fundamental disagreement here. With the exception of journal threads, the thread starter does not *own* the thread. They started the thread and that's all. The community owns it from that point on. Now when it comes to journals that's very individual focused and an area where...

Is there a way to put a "Ignore" or "Block" Trolls from our Posts?

Let's put it this way: if I'm going to risk information manipulation I'd rather it be through dealing with the tyranny of the majority rather than the tyranny of the minority. In short allow the reader to do the filtering not the writer filtering for the reader.

Is there a way to put a "Ignore" or "Block" Trolls from our Posts?

Absolutely not. Enhanced blocking whereby the thread starter is capable of molding the discourse how they see fit is completely anti-truth. The only way enhanced blocking is fair and reasonable is to allow *readers* to block certain people PER thread. They may not want to flat out ignore people...

    Does Technical Trading Really Work?

If TF had good liquidity at all hours I'd probably trade that vs ES. A different exchange than CME which makes it harder to cross-instrument arb is a positive not a negative. I have no issues with ICE (other than their data fees) and trade on ICEUS and ICEEU. Anyways HFT is annoying but it...

How to harvest 60% success right direction on SPY?

Okay well how about 1256 contract rule taxation? Does that interest you? Or would you prefer paying 100% short-term gain tax on SPY and accounting for every single trade at the end of the year? The only thing SPY options have going for them is liquidity during market trading hours and a smaller...

IB Trades statement P&L in account currency not clear!

IMO you're focusing on it too much as money you've WON or LOST. Just treat it as a number with a rough idea of what it converts to in USD. Also if you look at the account window in TWS you'll see the difference in gain/loss by checking the delta between your USD balance and the FX-affected...

    Does Technical Trading Really Work?

Let's be real: anyone trading 100 lots of any future most likely has a significant clue what they're doing and the capital to back up the margin requirements. You can make decent money with a 1 lot. You can make large amounts of money with a 10 lot. You can make shit tons with a 100 lot. All...
