    NINJA TRADER V6 Great Release!

Yes, Ninja 6 is a great product. I currently use it for Hang Seng trading with IB data feed, it should be even faster with zen-fire, but there are no brokers that I could find that offer HKex on zen-fire. Regards, redduke

China Stock bubble + population size = Buy china?

China has 91 million brokerage accounts open (just read it on marketwatch.com), and gambling is in Chinese blood according to a lot of people who lived there. So, it is a buble, and it will bring tears as these things always do.

    Goldman leveraged to the max?

Very true, but imagine for a second horrific scenario where a hundred or so of LTCMs would need resque at the same time.

    Goldman leveraged to the max?

    Precisely.

    Goldman leveraged to the max?

Do they really? I highly doubt that they calculated all risks such leverage can bring for non liquid positions. Read some of Frank Portnoy papers. The next few years will be very interesting, I only hope that if crash does take place, leverage derivate trading will not be prohibited.

    Teach your self on simulators

The cheapest way to get free simulator which will be close to identical to real market conditions is to open IB account (min 5k) and get NinjaTrader simulator version, as long as no real trades are needed it is free for as long as you want. So the only fee is about $10 per month or something...

    Is it worth it??

Spectra, Not sure what you mean, but ninja has one of the best DOM in the market. It is very easy to use, customize and put multi levels traling stops and similar things.

    Is it worth it??

Wait a second guys. Both global and velocity offer free x-trader with slightly higher commissions, I think somewhere around $4.5 to 5. If you do not do many trades and big volume these commissions are acceptable. If volume is large than $650 per month do not really matter. However, I am...

    Trading Hong Kong Stocks

Hi Hopeful, If you are a short term trader, I suggest you look at futures rather then stocks. The best contracts in Asia are Hang Seng, Nikkei and Kopsi (not available for US traders unfortunately). Regards, redduke

    Teach your self on simulators

Using simulator, and they are almost identical to real thing in respect to data and fills is of extreme importance. If people can not make money on simulator under real market conditions, and not just back testing, which becomes curve fitting in most cases, what makes them think that it would be...

    IB less and less reliable

Guys, I just do not get it, why don’t you just call the desk and confirm that you positions were closed and/or ask IB rep to close them when you have these issues. Seems very simple to me.

    I LOVE the HSI futs!

HSI often has spread of 5 points and more. But it is usually at 2-3. Anyone heard any news on allowing US residents to trade KOSPI contracts?

i am dying to get in the pits

Guys, Pits are history. They will be gone soon, so any effort in learning them will be wasted. Electronins are the future. Like every where else, one needs to adopt to changes or be destroyed. Regards, redduke

incredible 1.14 mil housholds with over $5 mil assets

Ok 500K net worth is a bit better, still do not think it is the case. If primary residence is included and all home equity debts are excluded, then may be.

incredible 1.14 mil housholds with over $5 mil assets

Now, this really made my day. 25% of US households having incomes of 500K+. I do not think there is such a stong substance to smoke to cloud judgment so much.

Why don't more people trade index futures?

Spot on. I am aslo surprised why stock day trades do not understand these concepts and day trade indexes. Most of my trades get executed in 300 mili seconds and rarely with slipage. If one needs huge market exposure than equities should be used, but nothing is better for intra day trading...

    TWS weird Java 1.6.1 issue

I use NinjaTrader to place orders via TWS API. I have recently upgraded to java version to 1.6.1, and it caused a strange behavior. After Ninja establishes the connection to TWS, any window that I select get unselected within 1 second and the control goes back to TWS window even if it minimized...
