Fantastic Quote From Cnbc Just Now

The stuff they show on CNBC is way too funny. I was watching FastMoney yesterday, and they showed a text that NASDAQ needs to go 46% up to break all times high. Last time I checked NASDAQ topped 5000 in 2000. Standing at 2600 today, it looks to me 100% move is required to go to all time highs.

Subprime Fiasco Exposes Manipulation by Mortgage Brokerages

I have no sympathy for suckers who fell for this crap. If someone makes $20 per hour and too dumb to understand that 500K house is out of his reach, he deserves his fate.

    Grid Trading Method Modification

Grid is not a bad idea especially if it can be automated. The key is to know when to throw away current grid wheather the balance is positive or negative. Also, each market will behave differently (how many tick between postions, trailing stops and so on).

True reason behind ICE bid for CBOT

It gets even more interesting. ICE apparently made a deal with CBOE (worth around 600 mil), that will settle dispute CBOE has with CBOT about membership values. The deal is only valid of course if ICE gets CBOT.

Cramer: "Why does everybody hate me?"

After reading Confession of Street Addict and listening to Cramer's interview about stock manipulation, it does not take long to figure out that he was the creature of his times. In the 80s and up to mid 90s it was mostly insider info and some of his own manipulation that made him money. Then...

    Chop and flat days

They sell the idicator, but its formula is fully described in the book for those who want to do it themselves. I find this method one of the best chop indicators.

    1-2 ES points a day

Hi Esnewbie, I am surprises that you haven't been eaten up alive yet with a post like this. Yes, it is possible to average 2 ES points, but extremely difficult. I have never heard of anyone doing it successfully with fully automated system. I suggest that you forget about automation for...

    Chop and flat days

John Carter discusses it in his book. One of the ways to identify a chop is to put bollinger bands (20, 2) and keltner channel (1.5, 20) on any chart, and when both BB get inside keltner channel it is chop.

Nasem Taleb of 'Black Swan' Fame Will Be On The Colbert Report Tonight @ 11:30 PM

I just finished reading Black Swan. Interesting book overall, but Fooled by Randomness is way better. The theme of Black Swan - unexpected event, and the themes of people attributing skills to their success and unexpected events to failures are nice repetitions of what was previously said...

    Futures or Stocks?! The truth

I have seen similar posts over the last few years. That’s why I said it. Glass-Steagall act was repealed after all, why not up tick rule. Not that I really care since I trade futures.

HSI 50 points drop in 1 second

Hi Kiwi, You have been trading this contract for a very long time. How often do you see such 1 second moves? I was under the assumption that the moves of this nature are around 20 points, not 50. Thanks, redduke P.S. Yes, it was the fact that it only took 1second that worries me, not...
