Yes, but this is theory. Reality could show that way too many have similar allocations.

Several more hedge funds have issues

This is my second thread for today on this subject. All of a sudden these news come from all over thw place. The sotry however is always the same. "But this never happened before, our models are fine". Big liquidation triggers hedge fund turmoil 'Market neutral', 'quant' funds hit hard...

2nd Goldman hedge fund is in trouble

It just amazes me how true old sayings are. One of them, ”Never confuse brains with bull market”. It seems that all these funds do well when markets are bullish, but we are not really bearish yet, and already the losses are huge. However, the fund managers are fine. With the amount...

why I don't like fat people

If people only drank less soda, this would solve a lot of problems. I love coke and pepsi, but I also know how bad they are, as a result I have them very rare.

Am I asking for too much?

Read a thread called Spyder Futures .... posted on Journals section. Your goal should not be 200 EUR per day on average. If you learn how to trade, your ceiling will become the liquidity of the particular market that you trade, that is the max size it can handle. This could be 5k-50k USD per...

Why do people use Volume, Range and Tic charts?

Guys, This endless debate about which one is better will lead to nowhere. Advocates of constant volume bars, myself included, explained in details why we prefer volume bars. I personally trade momentum and volume bars help me to identify it most clearly. There is another great method...

Trading KOSPI option contract just like a futures contract

Hi Def, I just read on KRX website that they are partnering with globex to list KOSPI on its platform. Did you hear anything about this? Will this open doors for US traders to be able to access KOSPI on KRX? Thanks, redduke

Why do people use Volume, Range and Tic charts?

NT6 charting is actually pretty good. It does calculate volume charts correctly. That is if there are 10 volume (contracts) left in the bar and 15 contracts trade takes place, Ninja will complete the current bar with 10, and put 5 into the next bar.

Kospi 200 option to be listed on U.S., German bourses

I just read it on KRX. It seems that US traders will soon get an access to KOSPI index trading. It is about time, as it is one of the most liquid in the world. However, I am a bit confused if this move, will allow US traders to also trade on KRX, since this is where the liquidity is. Anyone has...

MY God Hsi down almost 1000 points

I also use tight stops on HSI. I use 10 points max stop, usually loose about 8 when the trade goes against me. I get stopped out about 1/3 of a time, 1/3 around BE (plus minus 1 or 2 ticks), 1/3 are winners. I use volume charts and trade pure momentum, if it is there the trade goes into green...

Ninja Trader and TT vs Transact AT

Ninja also has trailing stops. 1 second could mean 1 or 2 ticks and in day trading it could mean winning trade vs being stoped out.

    Wall Street Warriors

Watched first disc over the weekend. I just could not believe these bozos. Especially Timmy and Sandra, both are such clowns. Sure if you work on 500mil deal, the clients would not mind you talking about it on tv, and you are obviously not busy enough to appear on reality tv. The truth is...
