A very booooring trade today...Hanger (HNGR)

Yeah, it could drop...I put my trades on this forum. Both the good and bad ones...People can judge them (tear them apart). I hope to generate income from the options over the years, if they don't get called away. Had a large CD mature today at the bank. You could only guess what the new rate...

A very booooring trade today...Hanger (HNGR)

So I had over $4,000. in my Roth IRA...Had to put the money somewhere. My wife was showing me a tech company to look into...A robotic prosthetics company (Myomo MYO). Great ideas and products...But they are running out of money. I also saw they market their products through Hanger. A bit...

Was CAR...Avis Budget a short squeeze today??

Well I did a covered call on my 200 shares of CAR today. Sell to open May 22 $195. I got $11.30 per share for it...$2,260. for this option. Stock hit a new high of $143.89 today. Again, I can't tell if people are covering, or buying for future profits from the chip/car shortage. Either way...

    Debunking News Slippage

I've shared this before...Disregard if you don't want to hear. I worked at a Hershey plant many moons ago...As a subcontractor. The plant was falling apart...Held together by duck tape and chewing gum! I asked one of the managers what was going on..."Why not fix the problems"?? He said "we...

Bid price strategy for buying illiquid options with wide spread

I do the same thing with wide spreads on leaps (covered calls). If the bid/ask is say 70 cents apart...I will go downward 5-10 cents (depending on the market allowance) every 5 minutes, depending on the situation. I'll wait till the MM walks away...Being very patient (since it's over a year...

When the option you wrote is called away early..

ANYTIME!! It is not likely out of the money, but it could happen. There is a rumor that you company is in talks with Amazon/Google/Apple. The buyer of your option is still out of the money...They have the right to exercise the stock option AT ANYTIME. One in a billion...But could happen.

Any DRIP stocks offering dividends at a discount

It's funny I had a different list...I threw it in the trash!! I was confused too. It seems you would like under priced stocks, that have a good dividend, that offer DRIP...Yes?? Like stated above...No company (that I know of) gives a discount to their stock offerings. Here is my list of OK...

Any DRIP stocks offering dividends at a discount

Yeah, I wanted to mention RVT and RMT...But problems with both. Don't get me wrong, I own more RVT than any other stock/mutual fund. But, it's hitting all time highs. Great dividend and reinvestment option (especially in recessions). But both RVT and RMT could have problems with higher...

Any DRIP stocks offering dividends at a discount

Here are two closed ended funds you could look at...PEO or RGT. Corporate raiders have gone after them, so their discounts are much less than in years past.

Was CAR...Avis Budget a short squeeze today??

I can't tell if it's a squeeze or if it's because of the lack of chips (new/used cars) available at this time. The volume is about 150% of average volume today. In March 2020 the stock had a low of $6.35 (pandemic)...It hit a high of $122.65 today. So how much of this is a squeeze and how...

When the option you wrote is called away early..

Yeah, I was wrong...Partly. The first post was correct (they may not be common, but it is correct) on when an option can be exercise and time period. The post is correct on why they (hedge funds/mutual funds/investors) exercise options early. People should know about being uncovered...

When the option you wrote is called away early..

I'll make it simple for you...And the end of the option period, someone has to have enough money to be the owner of the underlying stock!!

When the option you wrote is called away early..

Take known profits (bird in the hand)...Invest the money or option money elsewhere.

When the option you wrote is called away early..

It can be exercised at anytime during the option period...Including the next day (Saturday) depending on the exchange, and at any price!! Many times an option will be exercised before the ex dividend of the stock. So the buyer of the option will gain both the upside they gained and the...

Short Call position at Interactive Brokers shows wrong entry price ?

Years ago something like this happened to me when I optioned a covered call on a stock. The company announced a "special" dividend...Not a regular one. Everything got adjusted and it took me a long time to figure it out. I think you're in the same boat. Because I received the "special"...
