Company reduces dividend, gets over sold...

Here me out on this one...I've done this over the years with OK results. This may sound like babbling, it's a little hard to explain. You have a fairly solid company that needs to reduce their dividend. This is because they will soon need to go into the bond market and refinance some maturing...

    "They make money"...

I read the information closely...When I got to K-1 I got a red flag in the back of my head. Here is from an earlier post about USO. If CEQP ever had to be unwound in bankruptcy, it would be treated different... Does the government treat LLPs different than other ETFs? Yes!! If a LLP is...

    "They make money"...

I know we see this as apples vs oranges...I just turned 67 and am looking for cash flow. Here is the thread about WEAT...You can look at Statistical Trader's thread about my other trade in WEAT. https://www.elitetrader.com/et/posts/5641305/ I hardly ever hit home runs...$50. dividend here...

    "They make money"...

Not true to your category, but these two come to mind...WEAT (straight commodity) and ABBV. The US still leads (for the most part) in biotech...

    "They make money"...

Was thinking about the market the past few days...I know many of you have been. I know I sound like an old timer (it is what it is), but I've been through the 1987 crash, the 2000 (dot.com) crash, and 2008 crash...Not to mention the closing of the economy in March 2020. I would see a pattern...

My "sell to open" option did NOT hit any markets today!!

SEC, it looks like they will tweak PFOF. That is what I would like to see. Not a full ban, just more transparency...Less pocketing of orders. From Bloomberg... The US Securities and Exchange Commission will stop short of banning payment for order flow, a controversial way to process retail...

My "sell to open" option did NOT hit any markets today!!

Just an update...The saga continues. I didn't bother to put in the order again today (during market hours). Late this afternoon, I reentered the order. VERY TRICKY wording from Fidelity as I worked my order. When it came to routing it said "auto". Auto may mean something very different to...

My "sell to open" option did NOT hit any markets today!!

I will say this...At least sent it to the/an exchange. The MM is NOT the exchange...They may be creating the market, I get that. But if orders do not find their way to an exchange...The MM becomes the exchange, rather than the true exchange. There is a reason why the SEC is looking into this...

My "sell to open" option did NOT hit any markets today!!

I would love to see the order broadcast to all exchanges...How it use to be, way back in the day. I would get silly fills by the Pacific Exchange. I was also charged something like $30. to $60. for the trade!! I am just saying, I would have liked to have seen my order go onto at least one...

My "sell to open" option did NOT hit any markets today!!

Put in my 65 cents after hours...I wanted to do "good till cancelled". The CBOE will not allow it...So I put it in for "day only".

My "sell to open" option did NOT hit any markets today!!

Not on a soapbox...Just thinking out loud. Was fraud involved in anyway on this trade? Was I wrong to assume that my order would not show up on any market for at least few minutes??

My "sell to open" option did NOT hit any markets today!!

Thanks...I am not an active trader. I trade maybe 50/100 times a year. Usually it will not matter which route I choose...Example buying or optioning things like Walmart or ADM. It will be easy to find a market. It's just the idea that the order was not sent (posted) to ANY MAJOR MARKET, for...

My "sell to open" option did NOT hit any markets today!!

In your case, there literally may not have been a market. No one wants to buy something that is (potentially) worthless. The market said there is not value (way OTM)... With my case there is a known market...

My "sell to open" option did NOT hit any markets today!!

I'm really ticked at Fidelity. The worst thing is they were saying this was in MY best interest!! I own 500 shares of Farmland Partners (FPI)...Option expired worthless on Friday. I wanted to option the 17 1/2 for May 23 (not all or none). So I put my sell to open (good till canceled) in at...

    Help me...What do I not see...Intel

I think I found it... Central serous chorioretinopathy (CSC or CSCR), also known as central serous retinopathy (CSR), is an eye disease that causes visual impairment, often temporary, usually in one eye.[1][2] When the disorder is active it is characterized by leakage of fluid under the retina...

    Help me...What do I not see...Intel

I have a friend who is an optometrist. He was sharing with me about a medical eye condition that is dubbed "CEO eye disease" I don't remember the technical name...And don't want to bother asking him. Maybe somebody knows the term here. He was saying that most people in upper management have...

Chewing on what has been said. I think I will look at a semiconductor ETF later this year. Buy, then do a covered call when there is blood in the streets. I'll hedge my bet...

    Help me...What do I not see...Intel

I'm looking at Intel (INTC). I do own some...Was thinking of doubling down on it. Was thinking of buying 100 shares, then do a covered call for the June 23 $30 (in Roth IRA)...Get about $3.50 for the option. I (just me...No need to hate on covered call people) like to find beaten down, value...
