Looking For New Trading Computer... A GOOD One For A Good Price?

There are good money spent, there are bad money spent... I don't know. In college... 80's dollars... I spent >$2000 buying an Apple II+ from the 2 Steves. Bragging rights, of course. Turning in papers with a dot-matrix print out (instead of hand-scribbled answers on green engineering...

    Tired of Trading From Home?

NTMtrader: Are you sure you want to do this? How likely are you going to find 2 or more traders with similar mindset living in relatively close distance? The overhead. Right now you are already covered. The moment you rent out an outfit, you will start to pay extra rent, electricity...

Need to upgrade or replace trading computer!

Andy: How's it going so far? In your BIOS/CMOS setup utililty, there should be some area that listed all the hardware config info. Did you double check everything? e.g. RAM: do all of them show up? CPU - the right chip model, clock speed? SATA configuration should have your DVD...

    Working on Consistent Profitability

Sorry the displays are a bit small to read. Be kind to us seniors. ;) I think 25% to 50% bigger would be very good.

Need to upgrade or replace trading computer!

First of all: did your BIOS detect you have your hard drive in the SATAx position? "x" is the SATA number in your controller. Like SATA1, SATA2, etc.. I think (I may be wrong) that it always boot from the low SATA number first. If your BIOS has detected your device, it should register...

Hey man... the OP has just posted a question. He didn't ask for any help. He did not ask for any advice. Why should he need to thank anybody? Quote: Honestly, I don't understand why some of you are concerned about being thank for your advice. I'm a member of a few other forums on the...

Looking For New Trading Computer... A GOOD One For A Good Price?

Did that price include the keyboard and a mouse? Or they were sold at $200 each? Oh wait... in those days there was no such thing as a "mouse". And the keyboard is built in to the chassis... :D

    How to use Search function

I really don't like the searching function in this forum's software. I think you will have a better result and more precise control using Google. Enter this in your Google search string: site:elitetrader.com "bright trading" (add whatever else to the end)

My dads JPM Chase mutual Fund

I haven't read the whole thread. Not sure if I will. But I tend to agree with the above statement. Very unlike a conservative investment gets 20%/year. May be one year if one gets lucky, for whatever reason. Not likely an average.

Thats it, I quit...so long ET!

RN: You sure have a nice way to turn a thread originally worthy of nomination for the Chit-Chat forum to something worth reading.

How do you get over a big losing day?

Which prop firm will accept a $1000 security deposit to let you trade? Besides... judging from the OP's posts, I don't think he would have the patience to go through any learning path. He just wants to DO IT.

How do you get over a big losing day?

This is what the OP posted on Tuesday: http://www.elitetrader.com/vb/showthread.php?s=&postid=2926803#post2926803 Riding a trend? He said NO. What I don't understand is why many of you kind-hearted seasoned traders posted many useful, but unthankful (from the OP) advices. The...

    Jinxu's Dow E-mini Journal 2010

I agree with what's said here. While the OP said "looking forward to lots of discussions" in the opening, and you guys can give your professional, battle-instilled advices all you want... The moment that he sees a comment that he doesn't like, he is going to tell you to take a hike. Go...

    Jinxu's Dow E-mini Journal 2010

I think you have grossly under-estimated the OP's ambition. "Besides, why would I want to get a full-time job when I can make the same daily amt in less than 30 mins?" "I just netted $455 today. If god wanted me to work full-time, he's doing a poor job convincing me." "In the last few...

How do you get over a big losing day?

This is a good advice in general. But this OP has a $1000 account. Risking 2% = $20. Trading Dow e-mini, it is not even enough for the spread most of the time (disregarding the commission). There is no way someone can start with a $1000 account to make it if he goes by the 2-3% risk.
