    Matcha's Dow E-mini Journal

I don't know where this "10000 hours" figure came from. Maybe the rough measure for most highly skilled professions like pilots and sport stars and golfers and etc.. Matcha, PO and tlow I think you guys will do all right in the long run. You all are very modest and eager to learn and listen...

    Pictures of your trading stations

Nice! I too find it easier to have a 3rd level instead of swiveling the chair around. Actually there are a couple of monitors that I mounted on a 4th level - below my desk surface. With your bookshelves, you can easily mount them to form the third level. With an arm extension you can tilt...

Is there a way to Find what video card is installed in my comp?

Yeap. E521 has an onboard video on the motherboard. http://www.targetpcinc.com/Details.asp?ItemID=74178 According to this post: He has an added on "NVidia 7600GS card with dual DVI out" and was asking whether he can have all 3 monitors working. Some said no. But this reply said yes...

Is there a way to Find what video card is installed in my comp?

What is the Dell computer model number that you are using? You should be able to look up the technical specs to see if there is a video output on the motherboard. If you have an onboard video output, then when you add additional PCI or PCIe X16 video card, the onboard video might be disabled...

Is there a way to Find what video card is installed in my comp?

I think this will work if you already have the video driver installed. From what I understand... the case is that the OP is trying to find out the video card model so that he can install the proper drive.

Is there a way to Find what video card is installed in my comp?

I am not sure if this will work. But you can try it. Run "Regedit" (Start... Command... "Regedit") Do a search (control-F, or under Edit menu, Find). Enter the string: HardwareInformation.AdapterString and see if it finds something that gives a clue. Like this:

Is there a way to Find what video card is installed in my comp?

Sorry to say this. But why play the guessing game? What is the reason that the computer chassis would need to be "broken" to open?

    dell outlet win 7 question

LOL! Thanks for a good laugh stockwrangler. :p But if you follow my posts... I have only used a Dell while worked at a call center. I had never owned one for personal use. I am a HP guy! :D (I used to work at HPQ. But that's way before they seriously got into the PC business...

computer doing unknown downloads between 6-7am

If you do some monitoring while the download is happening, you should be able to know the image name. e.g. Run Task Manager, trigger "Resource Monitor" (In Win7, not sure if it is the same in earlier Windows versions). Use the "Disk" tab. It should show all image names that have disk I/O...

Windows 7, Intel i7 Chip Combo

I have seen those pictures. Just didn't know what the "ball" was referring to. I noticed that these CPU's get hotter as they spend more time in computing than as in idling. In my use, the heat has not been an issue. But I can imagine if you send the CPU to constantly over 50% in use or...

Windows 7, Intel i7 Chip Combo

Oh... sorry. The price was for a quantity of 3 drives. I only now noticed. I kept mis-thinking everything was Qty:1. In your case... it makes a lot of sense to have multiple disks. And you are probably going to set up RAID? (If not, I think it's worth it.)

    Matcha's Dow E-mini Journal

That's a hard bargain! :) 100 Dow point a day huh? With 1 contract! That's equivalent to 10 ES points a day... I would love to have that myself! But my indicators will always be free for life for starving students.

Windows 7, Intel i7 Chip Combo

I would recommend not replacing a hard drive with SSD but add a SSD. Typically SSD is much more expensive in terms of price-per-byte stored than conventional hard drives. I played with an Intel SSD 40GB on my system. Easy to set up. It is totally transparent to users. Use the SSD as if...

Windows 7, Intel i7 Chip Combo

RedEyeFly: Your list looks pretty good. For normal trading (with lots of charts and execution tools), from my experience it probably hardly touches 4GB. I built my box originally with 12GB RAM but later trimmed it down to 6GB. More than adequate. But your situation is different. You are...

trading without any indicators for daytrading?

It seems that you haven't known my reputation on ET. I am not wishy-washy. And who cares about your statistics anyway? Really. I have been using many indicators to trade for the past 10+ years. To the point of being laughed as as a "confused" person because I have too many indicators on...

trading without any indicators for daytrading?

You can add me to change your statistics a little bit. I love indicators. 3 out of 34 To me it is really simple. If indicators help you, use them. If they don't help you, don't use them. If you like trading naked, just trade naked. If you like trading with your cloths on, keep...

What's a good way to start learning how market-making works?

Seek to be employed by investment banks? Doesn't a market maker require some Series-X exam qualifications? As an individual, we can play market maker to buy on bid and sell on ask. But we wouldn't have access to level-3 and order flows.

    Matcha's Dow E-mini Journal

Yeah. 1-min chart. I would tell Matcha to stay out of it. I would tell everybody to stay out of it. It is my playground. :D For AAPL, 1-min is not fast enough. I need to watch the 42-tick. You remember on Tuesday 9/28/10? AAPL had a mini flash crash. I have not seen AAPL moved...
