Automatic screen capture on 10 screens every X minutes

I have used Camtasia before. While it works nicely but I found myself not needing a video playback. All I need are some static screenshots every few minutes. I have tried a few freeware for screen capture but they didn't work too well. What I would like to be able to do is to...

Thunderbolt I/O port. 10Gbps per port. Very nice. I wonder when I will see it supported on a X-58 mobo. http://www.intel.com/technology/io/thunderbolt/index.htm (Standards are wonderful... I have so many to choose from... )

    Building your own trading computer

What I have seen in retail stores... the ready-made boxes are mostly Intel i3 or i5 (or AMD equivalents). i7 are rare. Maybe they target more towards common households wanting a computer at home to check e-mails and browse the internet and such. Computer gamers are probably very few in their...

Historical Data From March 15th 2000- April 18th of ES

Of course... that's the period of the dot-com boom (bust). IPO companies never made any money but hosted million dollar pool-side parties using sucker money. Yahoo! was thought to be going to the moon...

Pros and Cons: LLC vs S-Corp

I may be wrong on this as I am not familiar with the details. But I think there is a limit on how much you can contribute your pay to a retirement plan. And I don't believe it can be "most". Let's say you decided to pay yourself $60k a year. I don't think you can contribute like $50k for...

USB 3.0 Speed + Intel 320 SSD is early

Ah! Thanks for filling in the details Scataphagos. What I plan to use a SSD for, I wouldn't need/want to carry it from place to place or from one computer to another. I probably wouldn't need it. I only use USB disk drives for backing up files. For that I leave the job run all night and...

    Intraday Swing Trading

I think there is a mix in terminologies/interpretations. These are two different ways of describing your trading approaches. "Swing" trading means you want to capture the majority of a price move. From "swing" to "swing". From pivot low to pivot high (vice versa). Though these price moves...

Pros and Cons: LLC vs S-Corp

I don't know about you all but here is what I am thinking... You want to pay yourself so that you can contribute to your retirement plan from trading... you first need to pay this 15.3% tax. What kind of investment do you have now that pays you a 15.3% return? Think about it. I feel...

USB 3.0 Speed + Intel 320 SSD is early

Thanks again Scataphagos. At the beginning of this thread, you referenced USB 3.0. How was that established with your X25-M SSD? The X25-V that I have only has a SATA 3.0 Gbps interface. Does Intel sell X25-M as an external USB V3.0 SSD?

    widescreen questions

My best guess is your current CRT's resolution is 1024 x 768 from the attached image file you provided. I agree that you can easily get up to 1680x1050 or 1920x1080 with today's monitors. Effectively almost double the width you have now. Turning head from side to side with 1 monitor...

Adding external monitors to a laptop

BTW the Dell 20-inch monitor your referenced, E2011H, has a 1600x900 maximum resolution. Highly NOT recommended. For 20-inch or above screen real-estate, I think you will enjoy the 1080p resolution (i.e. 1920 x 1080) much better. Look for monitors with higher maximum resolutions.

Adding external monitors to a laptop

What's most important to you in a monitor? *) Size? (20", 22", 23", 24"?) - Compact or more spacious? *) Resolution? *) Light weight? *) Vivid colors? I use a few Samsung SyncMaster 2243SWX (22 inch) and 2343BWX (23 inch). They are excellent in color contrast and resolution (as high...

Adding external monitors to a laptop

I have reviewed the specs. Should be okay. Your laptop has one VGA 15-pin outlet, as most laptops these days. You should be able to drive one external monitor (your Dell E2011H). There you have a 2-screen set up. (Your laptop's 14-inch screen, plus your external Dell monitor's 20-inch...
