I have bought Al Brooks' Trading Course

At least you're giving the guy's stuff a try before placing judgment.

    Isn't It Amazing?

This is one of those moments in which there is no clear direction. It could go either way at this point. Short-term, I'd be bullish.

    Isn't It Amazing?

My thing was...the equity indexes were at their resistance levels and showed that they were about to turn down. I thought the fall would be only to support but once I saw support get taken out, I knew that it was gonna be worse than I initially expected.

    Isn't It Amazing?

What's funny is that the charts showed that a major decline was coming a month before it actually happened. Nope...not hindsight analysis. I actually wrote an article calling it in July, basing my call only on the technical position of the market.

Why are Futures and Forex more popular than stocks for short-term trading?

That was when I first began trading. Coming to this site relieved me of that belief quickly.

The authors of "The Bible of Technical Analysis" and review of the "Bible".

I'm still dealing with that issue to some degree, which has lead to me spending a considerable amount of time tweaking my method. Although I was right most of the time, I was risking an insane amount of money in my trades. But, to answer your question, I'm not full-time yet. BTW, here's my...

I'll end it with this. I had a journal earlier this year in which I was making calls ahead of time and showing the actual P&L. Every single one of my calls was correct....and I'm a pure PA trader. My only problem is that a lot of times I chickened out and was still right.

The authors of "The Bible of Technical Analysis" and review of the "Bible".

Why should those who have a working method share with people here only to be met with extreme cynicism? Also, have you considered that what wbtrader described is the reason that traders don't bothering offering anything more tangible? What he describes make plenty of sense. If successful...

The authors of "The Bible of Technical Analysis" and review of the "Bible".

What I've noticed is that topics like this usually created by and/or supported by struggling traders. These individuals are usually frustrated and are damning any and everything, with TA being their main whipping boy. It's sad that this forum has become nothing but an endless stream of threads...

Then why is there proof that he succeeded as a trader?

What about this guy who wrote the real bible on price action? I dare you to say he died broke. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Richard_Wyckoff

Why are Futures and Forex more popular than stocks for short-term trading?

I swear, I thought traders in general were smart people until I joined this site.

Al Brooks - Al Crooks, Charlatan

In other words...he thought he knew a lot but really didn't anything. Anyone with any real-life experience will tell you that one of the biggest causes of failure is thinking that you know it all.

Al Brooks - Al Crooks, Charlatan

And here we go again. You guys of this type really tell on yourselves by making topics of this type. There's no reason why someone who has a sound plan for making money and is profitable will attack so vigorously someone who shares their methods. Such behavior indicates that you are pissed off...

Why has the turtle trend-following system stop working?

How can trend following "not work" when markets do in fact trend? The guys who call themselves trend followers may not be the ones making impressive returns, but someone somewhere is doing just that. Just because we don't know who they are doesn't mean they don't exist.

Does trend-following work in short-term trading or better use mean-reversion?

When you understand that prices look the same on all time frames, you'd understand also that if trend following works on one time frame then it works on another. If you define short-term trend following as holding for a week or so, you'd probably base your entry on a 4-hour chart. On an intraday...

    Did SLA Ever Work?

And people are STILL talking about DBPhoenix and his strategies? I would think that if people had their own method(s), they'd simply say what they have to say about the guy and continue on with whatever they're doing. However, people continue to devote an insane amount of energy and effort...

Are those price charts or medical scans?
