Tariff changes: How is Trump able to raise them so easily?

...recent China increases, today Mexico... is there no check on his power to raise/lower tariffs? His tariff increases are ultimately messing with supply chains, sending us into a “faux” bear market. I heard some vague reference to a 1978 law that gives him unilateral power over tariff...

    AAPL - Analysis - 16 Apr 2019 - SHORT

This is a technical response to a speculative argument. I’m short for the speculative reasons specified in the OP, especially revenue issues pertaining to iPhone, which accounts for 2/3rds of AAPL revenue.

    AAPL - Analysis - 16 Apr 2019 - SHORT

Interesting! I hate to say it, but I like it: hedge the short position on AAPL with a long on SPY! He's not looking for a free lunch, he's making a smart play. The risk is if AAPL outperforms the SPY.

    AAPL - Analysis - 16 Apr 2019 - SHORT

Agreed, shorting can be risky; I acknowledge your point, but the specific instrument matters. If AAPL shoots ups 20% it's a massive move, in the tens of billions. Plunging AAPL is not like some Pharma startup that's going from $5 to $75 overnight because the FDA approved their new cancer drug...

    AAPL - Analysis - 16 Apr 2019 - SHORT

I saw it on Bloomberg. That was when AAPL had that massive plunge towards the end of last year. The Chinese government is "suggesting" that their population "buy local." The message is, "There's about 100 smartphone manufacturers in China... buy one of them."

I borrowed. I'm not entirely sure when it's going to drop, so I don't want the contract expiration of a put. Why are you bullish on AAPL?

Men aged 25-34 now working at the highest rate since the recession

Yes, this whole post reminds me of when Jacob worked for seven years to earn Rachel's hand in marriage. [Genesis, 29] He was probably about 25 at the end of his indenture; there's probably an economic cycle here if you look close enough.

What is "The Economy" to the masses?

As I ponder, "The Economy" the above quote comes to mind. If memory serves, almost half of all voters vote The Economy; and certainly many make decisions based on how it affects their pocketbook. But, what exactly is "The Economy" to most people? Those with a degree in Economics, Finance, and...

Tech-friendly car brand: Access to onboard computers, etc..

..or save big money on maintenance. Agreed, they don’t want this; but that didn’t stop be from jailbreaking my phone. I’d be a fool to tinker with the braking system. At a minimum I want to diagnose and fix Check-Engine Light problems. I might be tempted to adjust the fuel ratio to squeeze out...
