    Flip of a coin..but

Each scale in is a 50/50 shot it will work out. Most trend traders i see over the years use b/e stop and scale out. They're basically scalping a move most of the time and just leaving couple of positions to run. Nobody really goes all in and out on a trend bet.

    Flip of a coin..but

It's just using initial range multiple. You would have to do it in high volatility like the cash open so you can have wider range. I would say it's less about mean reversion, but more about "retracement play". In a 50/50 world, you will get a series of consecutive head/tails that represents a...

    Flip of a coin..but

Yea I agree with that. I did mention trading as the context of the discussion. But what if, in the grand scheme of things, the stock market is random. Honestly, how long has our stock market existed for? Relative to our existence, it's pretty short history. Just a snippet of a lucky streaks of...

    Flip of a coin..but

Lol that's pretty much the conclusion I came up with. Just trade random entry with mean reversion and just pretty much use size and breakeven stop to "manage" risk.

    Flip of a coin..but

I'm pretty sure most people can get at least profitable setup or two in there. My point is, we're operating in a random environment in short term in the day trading world. You could also do what @2rosy proposed and find pairs trading opportunity, which is more in line with mean reversion.

    Flip of a coin..but

Did some weekend backtests: Took the 1st minute opening range of the ES. Using neutral entry (first hit) fading vs breakout of that range with 1:1 RR, yields 50% success rate for both. At the very basic level, there is a 50/50 chance that a price will close either way on the next bar. My...

    Baron's Crypto Trading Journal

You people sure have a lot of mental bandwidth to go back and forth about this crypto. Personally, I believe in the space, but I'd rather invest in actual companies that can take advantage of the tech like Visa or some other payment processing (paypal, etc). Putting too much into crypto...
