Is it time to throw in the towel?

I didn't bother to read the entire thread, but IMO, your problem - and you're in company with most others - is that you don't respect or understand how much effort is needed to make it in this game. You mention taking a week or two off and papertrade to get back in the zone. Delusional, IMO...

    ES Journal - 2019/2020

By the way, @Pekelo: Which SMA line is this? Personally, I was anticipating a move towards the 200 SMA on the daily around 2750 before a reversal...

Now we're talking. Any reason you expected the drop to be 'significant'?

    Must-Watch Movies for Traders

While not a movie and already mentioned, Billions is a must watch tv-series. Fantastic show.

If we do slide (and we should within the next 15 minutes if we do), I have a 2nd scenario mapped out which takes us down all the way to 2720 by the close at 16:00. I don't have a clear read on this, but my base scenario is 28 with a potential for more (20). Would be surprised to see new highs...

Slowly working the turn here. Should be good for a slide down to 28 and below. IMO. :)

It could be one of those outlier days, but the HOD is most likely in for today. Could see a slide from here, but it's probably we'll just trade sideways from 28-34 for the remainder of today's session. IMO. :)

    ES Journal - 2019/2020

No significant drop yet, though. Just taking a breather here after a 390 point up leg, IMO. I bet there's more upside still before any sustained down move, but some consolidation here is due...

Good chance we'll trade down to 22-23 intraday.

Can you keep sanity day trading?

I both agree and disagree. Day trading does not have to be stressful. It was for me at some point. Very stressful. My hands would get cold any my chest would be tight. Why? Because I had a need to make profits, was undercapitalized and didn't know what I was doing or the market I was trading...

    ES Journal - 2019/2020

While some may be tempted to short here for a nice potential R/R, I'd be careful doing so. I have a hunch we can trade up to 2750 before any reversal on the daily. That'd coincide with the 200 day MA. Above that, we have an open gap at 2790,75.

Strong market today. I believe we will print 20 + today. Expecting the HOD in the last half hour to the close (16:00).

    Hello to all

Welcome, John! :) Anything specific nowadays? There is indeed a lot of great content in the archives and many knowledgeable people have passed through this site, but currently I feel that signal-to-noise ratio is very high here.

    ES Journal - 2019/2020

    ES 2014-2018: # Days = 1247 % + Gaps = 55 % % - Gaps = 45 % Sum + Gaps = 5006,25 Sum - Gaps = -4356,25 Difference = 650 points. It seems like a fairly mixed picture to me with an expected bias to the upside which is true for the stock market.
