    ES Journal - 2023/2024

I'm long again. 5600 still looks good from my point of view as long as the 5500 area holds.

And that's what happened, although stopping me out first. Oh well. :)

Delayed entry, but I longed 87.50 with a 2 point stop. May be too early and even wrong, but don't want to wake up tomorrow and see the market 20 points higher. I see the potential of 5600 tomorrow. EDIT: That's a typo there. 87.50 is the stop. Entry is at 89.50.

Flat for a 6.50 point loss. Not surprised as I didn't like that trade entry at all, but knew there was a chance it could run. Flat for now and looking to see what transpires overnight before any further entries. It's quite possible this July won't close green.

L 07.50. Stop at 01. Target is 5600. Try again tomorrow if stopped. I'm not convinced we won't see a bit of a dip first, but I hope not. :)

    ES Journal - 2023/2024

I'll be looking for a buy on the Globex Open for the potential of a mini-rally going into end of month and FOMC on Wednesday. 5600. Initial entry will be on small size as I don't love the trade location and will rather take a small stop-out and re-enter if it dips further. Adding tomorrow if...

    ES Journal - 2023/2024

Two Inside Days in a row? Uncommon. The prior month close was rejected twice today. Second last trading day of July tomorrow. A move back up to 5600 looks like a good play to me. Probably what I will try to position myself for on the Globex Open if the market is acting right, but I'm not...

5460/5440 is my best guess for now. No trades on at the moment, though. I'd like a good move lower before any longs.

Honestly, I'm not sure if trading can be taught and I also think it requires a special type of personality to be risking your money on a daily basis. Even with the right knowledge one may end up sabotaging oneself as the trading game is rigged against human nature. Typically by doing the...

Thanks, guys. However, the comment regarding snarky replies was purely humoristic related to @Coin Flip's comment on page 948. LOL. :) I honestly don't mind some snark. I even find it entertaining and funny. Life's too short to get wound up by comments on the internet.

    Daily Profit Goal

Agreed. Also agree with @comagnum that if one should utilize this approach the daily loss limit is just as important and would probably have to be enforced broker side in order to protect against full tilt. There's no use in making $500 per day 10 days in a row if you lose $3000 two days in a...

    ES Journal - 2023/2024

If July closes red it will be the first red July since 2014 (- 1,51 %). Over the last 20 years only 5/20 closed red. Friday's close was pretty much unchanged for the month on SPX (- 0,03 %). The last time (2015) we saw a similar monthly pattern we rallied into month end. So, maybe we'll move...

Trump says to HODL as Bitcoin is going to the moon

I already do that instantaneously here in Norway for free using a mobile app called Vipps (works across all banks and now works across all Scandinavian countries, too). Also, if I want to send or receive money from my broker in the US it's usually processed the same day. For me personally, I...

Is Tom Hougaard the real deal?

I never watched his livestream, but listened in on a podcast or two. I liked what he had to say on money management, but what I was told from others that he wasn't actually that good at running winners in practice. From what little I've picked up about his trading it's basic retail TA 'price...

Trump says to HODL as Bitcoin is going to the moon

Wikipedia: Sociologist Nigel Dodd, citing the crypto-anarchist Declaration of Bitcoin's Independence, argues that the essence of the bitcoin ideology is to remove money from social, as well as governmental, control. The Economist describes bitcoin as "a techno-anarchist project to create an...

Wait a minute. Are you suggesting @v-shape-0DTE should get paid for his posts? While I actually like his posts and he's been right during the prior euphoric bull run, he's also been wrong as I'm pretty sure he's said quite a few times that this market is incapable of dropping. Well, NQ sold off...

feeling like the market is gainst you. whats the psychology behind it?

I don't always agree with @tiddlywinks, but he hit the nail on the head in this thread. There is no they, there is only YOU. If you want to profit from directional moves in the market, then your focus should be to learn how the market moves most of the time. And when you've learned that and...

Is Tom Hougaard the real deal?

Money management on it's own is not an edge and moving your SL to breakeven quickly is generally not a good idea as you'll often get stopped out of a good entry and may have to chase the market leading to a worse price with more risk. If you know what you're doing (which you should), you need to...
