How to make a Brexit play?

Looks like there's going to be some good Brexit-based volatility coming up... and some good plays to be made... but where? What instrument(s)? What's are the instruments that will be most affected by Brexit? My best idea GBP/USD currency, including futures. What other instruments that are most...

    Baby SPY?

    Baby SPY?

10 shares is an odd lot. Typically we trade in 100-share lots.

    Baby SPY?

I want to trade in round lots. Buying odd lots results in nonstandard routing, and also messes up my math. Example: Nasdaq:AMD - Buy 100@20.00 = $2000.00 Price moves to $21 - Average up - Buy 100@21.00 = $2100.00, total 200 shares $4100 Price moves to 22. Average up - Buy 200@22 = $4400, total...

    Baby SPY?

1 month to 1 year. There’s also higher fees for Option trades. There’s no cheaper ETF?

    Baby SPY?

If Options, how far out? I normally like to buy the equity outright so that I’m not on the clock, and don’t have to worry about expiration.

    Baby SPY?

Gm All, I’m looking for a less expensive version of SPY. Any suggestions? At the moment the price is 270.81. I like to grow and shrink my positions from 100 to 2100 shares. At this price, 2100 shares would cost about USD 567,000. I simply don’t have that kind of cash lying around, even with...

What's going on with the US Dollar now?

Perhaps this? It's always terrifying to see a bank withdrawal request refused. Bank of England denies Maduro's bid to pull $1.2 bln in gold: report https://www.marketwatch.com/story/bank-of-england-denies-maduros-bid-to-pull-12-bln-in-gold-report-2019-01-25

Best way for an American to trade foreign markets?

Then just scalp forex. Currency markets are open 24x5 I believe? It's been a while for me, but if memory serves, Hong Kong opens at 3am ET on Sunday, and markets are open until Friday at 5pm when US markets close.

    NYSE:GE - Strong Buy

Just broke resistance at 9. Earnings call on 1/31. Methinks they're getting the chainsaw out. What's left of GE when they're done will be profitable.

Best way for an American to trade foreign markets?

    - Equity: Foreign ETFs for Europe, Brazil, China, etc. - Bond: Eurobonds, Bulldog, Samurai, Panda bonds, etc. - Forex: obviously trading a foreign currency but that's not quite what you're after. A bit on the fringe, but also companies that are registered in the US but have a large...

The Fed's recent dovish statements make me more nervous than hawkish

The great recession was about 10 years ago. Now is the time when the economy should be recovering and briskly moving forward and upward. The Fed should _need_ to raise rates now, to slow things down, and prevent inflation. Most concerning is Apple's recent plunge, which dragged down much of the...

    Best trading books/resources?

It is most certainly risky, but get used to it... investing is loaded with endless risk! Sooner or later you have to grow a pair and put some real money down. I believe that sooner is better: get in and pay your dues asap. Just don't make big bets; start small; 100 shares of stocks less than $5...

    Best trading books/resources?

I see your point, but to some extent disagree. I think that there is tremendous value for a new player to actively trade a relatively low-priced stock, like SIRI or AG maybe. Get them into the real game, and let them see what it feels like when a big green or red candle hits their position...

    Best trading books/resources?

imo, the absolute best resource is the market itself. Open an account at Interactive Brokers, and start trading. Not just paper trading, REAL MONEY (it's very important to have some skin in the game). Trade equities, bonds, options, forex, futures, commodities, and everything else that they...
