DIS - Announce theme parks reopen - Light at the end of the tunnel

Irrespective of T, my point is that re-opening of theme parks is a big milestone for an actual "return-to-normal." The big question is _when_. In my opinion, DIS re-opening theme parks is the tell. Keep an eye on it, and look for an upspike. Chart courtesy of Interactive Brokers

DIS - Announce theme parks reopen - Light at the end of the tunnel

Thank you. Good point--they certainly can't redesign every ride to allow six feet between passengers. I imagine that they'll institute some policies... like you can only go on rides with a mask... and then sell them at "Mickey's Mask Kiosk" for $50 each...

Mortgage MBS Companies ask SEC to Stop Margin Calls and Fed buying.

I feel bad for those who wisely hedged against an event like this. It's not fair. :(

Not just Disney+, last year the company made 26,225/69,570 = 38% of its revenue from theme parks.

Learning to trade on margin (please help)

Some ways I've dealt with this: 1. Rank your positions based on confidence and structure your orders based thereon. For example, if your algo says to take five positions, rank them from 1-5. Buy the first 4, and if you run out of margin, you lose it on the 5th... which is the one that's least...

DIS - Announce theme parks reopen - Light at the end of the tunnel

Agreed; regardless, definitely put DIS on your radar. A big move up in price is a key indicator--probably over the weekend. What's the opposite idiom of "canary in the mine?" A canary stops singing and dies when when the air goes bad in a mine... can we say "the canary comes back to life?"

DIS - Announce theme parks reopen - Light at the end of the tunnel

In the opinion of the author, when Disney announces that it's re-opening theme parks, we're over the hump on this CV thing. It's stock will soon take off like a rocket when insiders are informed of the decision. A few days thereafter, we will see the news. Last year the company made...

Why doesn't Bloomberg ever talk about algo/quant trading?

Algos and Quant analysis play such a huge role in today's market. Why doesn't BB ever do a little spot on algo/quant trading?

Ford Becomes Largest Fallen Angel After S&P’s Cut to Junk

https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2020-03-23/ford-cut-by-fitch-as-coronavirus-batters-economy What is the medium- to long-term effect of this on Ford's equity price? I would think that it would be a hard hit, but the price isn't really moving down that fast. Was this priced in? Plants...

Mixed thoughts about my wife's swing trade

Buy her some flowers and tell her you love her more than all the gold, silver, and diamonds in the world. I think it's a good bet. She's bottom-feeding mining companies. After the mortgage crisis, gold shot up to almost 2000 in the following months/years--I could easily see it going to 2500 or...
