Is it possible for big companies/Uncle Sam to hoard BTC/crypto?

So with big companies, PayPal, Goldman, Tesla, et alia buying/accepting, is it possible for them to gradually accumulate get 51% or more? They never spend it, only accept. This would be a simple, easy way to deal with the crypto "problem." Along the same lines, imagine if Uncle Sam, with the...

I am debating to short VZ at 58.90

Don't do it. VZ is a great inflationary play. Also, as a DJIA and SnP company it's a complex trade... part of the political and economic spotlight. They were largely unaffected by Corona, and have a nice upside. If another lockdown hits, VZ will pop, because everyone will be depending on them...

    Investing for high inflation

Traditionally it's been physical gold--hold the metal. Note that had problems actually selling the metal at highs and lows: the market makers and coin shops won't part with their gold when it's low, and won't buy when it's high. It's OTC, without NBBO, so they have no obligation to make the...

Modeling Money Flow - Application - Data Structure - Finite State Machine?

With all this money being pumped into various markets, I've been noodling on how to best model monetary flows as a software application. In my imagination, said model would enable us to see how money flows through the world-wide economic system... but let's start with USD: - How money flows...

What's a good strategy for locking in gains?

    1. Sell covered calls at different strikes 2. Short a portion of the portfolio at different price points. Note that these were contributing factors to the crash of 1987.

bull trend might be taking a break?

I took profits at the end of last week. I didn't like the tone of Mr. Powell's presentation, and got a few other signals. But I'm probably wrong. I've been told that stocks only go up.

Weird picture, usually volume occurs at turning points

Because GME is one big sideshow. It's one big short squeeze; every bit of its movement is irrational. Don't try and apply conventional thinking to this irrational movement. In a situation like GME, the rules of physics don't apply; it's like being inside a black hole.

Can anyone recommend a good read or book on inflation? Something that talks about the different types of inflation, how it is measured, and how it has manifested itself historically? Thanks, Keith

Why is the spot price of gold so low?

LME gold spot USD1734.40 today 3/24/2021 at 6:55 EDT. This price doesn't make sense to me. - Roughly 1/4th of all U.S. dollars have been printed in the last year [1] - In other words, the total amount of dollars has increased from about 40T to 50T - Why is this price not reflected in gold? -...

    Portfolio trading platform

Yes I worked a contract for a custom portfolio trading system for a large hedge fund. It was mostly used for LL index arbitrage, where a Manager would create "baskets" of stocks identical to an index (DOW, SnP, Q's, etc) and look for arbitrage.

What is the most successful approach to do Algorithmic trading with IB(mostly FX margin account)?

    - Basically all the retail stuff is very slow. Even if your algo is running in nanoseconds, with a high-speed data feed, the communication to the IB server is in milliseconds, and your orders are generally last in line. - I think that if you want higher speeds and LL you have to sign up for...

What is the most successful approach to do Algorithmic trading with IB(mostly FX margin account)?

IB is not a really a low-latency platform. You can expect to work in milliseconds. If you want low-latency you have to pay for a cage at the exchange. The best you can do with IB is pay them to run your algos on their servers. Then you'll get better execution times--but you'll still be slower...

    LLC vs Sole Prop?

Heya Peeps, Is there any advantage of forming an LLC? In the past I've run contracts through a Sole Proprietorship, aka fictitious business name. What are the key advantages of incorporating as some form of LLC? Thanks, Keith
