What Inflation Means to You: Inside the Consumer Price Index

Yep, that's why we need gold-standard again :) Whenever I hear about inflation, I feel sorry for European settlers in Zimbabwe. They brought wealth to the country but their uneducated politicians ruined the country - they know nothing about basic economics.

    USDJPY - How high?

Nice ! you must be a long-term trader :) Out of them, I guess one of them must be yen. Since yen is a safe heaven currency and U.S economy may (or is expected to) enter a strong economic period in the coming year, U.S dollar may strength more at the interest decision next Monday. Yep, I will...

    USDJPY - How high?

haha, I am starting to think that with fundamental analysis of macro-news, FX is a better lottery ticket. But thanks, Justrading ! I'll probably have to do secondary research on that one. But from the information what I've collected so far, they'll stick to their interest rate (negative one)...

    Career as FX technical analyst/chartist

a technical analyst/chartist = sales position. I also used to work for a U.S global research and marketing firm and there I had to conduct both secondary and primary research for outstanding firms in certain industries. Now I utilise that skills for my trading. If you have superior information...

Using Statistics To Gain An Edge

I think his point is to find out the generalised facts/phenomenon over a long period. Anyway, from my first research, I find that in commodity futures market, there was excess speculation which caused the boom and bust in commodity price during 2008. Using Statistics To Gain An Edge

Soon I will find out. I need to find out which markets have been covered and which are not too. I am only in the initial stage of my second thesis. Looks very interesting. I will have to use five widely known market efficiency measures to test the systematic market efficiency between index...

    Euro falling off a cliff

I am not too sure whether parity will happen eventually. It appears ECB resisting for EURO from substantially depreciating below 1.05. Well, we can only monitor the current situations and take actions based on that.

    EurUsd

Yep, any substantial move is finished for EURUSD for 2016 - so ECB must have decided not go substantially below 1.05 after all. That makes sense since they stuck to that level even when they had Greek crisis.

Using Statistics To Gain An Edge

I am an information hunter. I can utilise information that ET traders talk about and by coming here I can overcome selection bias. TA without fundamental information analysis is simply a gambling in the long run.

Using Statistics To Gain An Edge

Nowdays, all financial markets are highly correlated. So, there is less benefit from divesification perspective. I think you're talking about price points where there is excess selling(buying). There are more than one way to find out that. In my first, PhD research on us commodity futures...

Using Statistics To Gain An Edge

I could not agree more. It's the primary reason why I have stopped following most fx threads. Especially "how forex trading can make you rich" one, it's really bad. Guys there who keep posting the same BS over and over, I feel like seeing dump and dumpers.

a beginner's attempt at the pairs

After yesterday's trades, I really think Forex trading is very profitable. I may stop day trading and focus on news trading - very predictable and less risky. On the top of that, very profitable, Merry Christmas Mr. Big Mac :)

No , in my case, I set them only for day trading. In case of news driven trade, I don't because of the initial excess volatility

a beginner's attempt at the pairs

But unlike eurusd last week, sterling pound has recovered and is currently strengthening again. So when interest rate is unchanged it has temporary impact after all. I don't know why euro had bigger negative impact last week when they did not change interest rate...

    USDJPY - How high?

Yep, you have a point but they would choose 120 than 116 because people use a round number as their internal reference number
