    SHORT KSU @ $84.61 Stop @ $87.18

I have started following Trump's Tweeter. It's so funny he said this "Toyota Motor said will build a new plant in Baja, Mexico, to build Corolla cars for U.S. NO WAY! Build plant in U.S. or pay big border tax."

Still two more weeks left before gold will resume a bear trend. So there is still a lot of time for gold sellers to make money. Everyone is waiting for Trump to come in on inauguration. US dollar will find its strength again soon. So I would not have a long position in gold at this stage.

It's usually the case when there is uncertainty with the government. Fiat currencies are backed by confidence and at the moment, people are waiting for Trump to come in on inauguration (Jan 20). US dollar is likely to find its strength again after that.

It's good for those small caps...but Mutual funds have no skilled traders so they will lose their money eventually. I see a lot of advertisements encouraging people to buy more gold especially when hedge funds are selling or have sold their shares in gold related companies.

It makes sense for China to buy gold now than US dollar in order to depreciate their currency but I don't understand why Germans want to buy gold now ....

    BABA

Their fundamental seems healthy and according the following article, they don't generate much revenue from US. "Alibaba generated just 10% of the $3.3 billion in revenue from its core commerce segment outside China and not all of the $330 million was from the U.S"...

    Supply-Side economics. Why?

Fyi- Ford has cancelled its plan to build a factory in Mexico. Yep, I was right, now Americans' confidence in Trump and US dollar (economy) will grow and Trump's fiscal policy will have a positive impact on US economy whether you hate Trump...

    Supply-Side economics. Why?

Time will tell. The effect will more likely to trigger a trade war (more likely policy involved) than currency war. With tariff effect, I don't see a currency war. https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2016-12-29/trump-twitter-age-brings-chaos-risk-reviving-gold-as-haven-asset

    Supply-Side economics. Why?

You need to think of the long term effect. The short term negative effect is inevitable. You can google or watch youtube on J-curve effect which explains the long term benefit over the short term loss

    Supply-Side economics. Why?

Although I do understand your point, the current action (e.g. tariff, interest rate rise etc) by US govt is to get an aggregate positive result in the long run - to encourage outsourcing companies to create more jobs in US and to slow down the rapidly growing economy to prevent bubbles etc so...

Pls shed enlighen me on that, how does it create the currency war ?

    Supply-Side economics. Why?

Without imposing tariff, yes, there would be a currency war, given the interest rate rise. However, with tariff, I don't expect a currency war. It's more like Win-Win situation for America. Trump is a business man, he knows the inside and outside of the business world.
  19. V

    Supply-Side economics. Why?

    1) Tariff limits imports - what it implies is US made products are relatively expensive because of higher labour cost. Given that a lot of US companies are doing outsourcing, tariff will have negative impact on these companies - less supply could make companies to raise selling price 2) Tariff...
