    Cyberpunk cyberpunked

It's not that much of a big deal. No serious game developer wants to even be seen reading stolen game source and even then there's not much you can do with several million lines of code without context anyway. They should of course strive to never have it happen again regardless.

One Quant Fund Wants To Hire "Sentiment Traders" From WallStreetBets

I expect this sort of thing to become more common actually. Something that is definitely way smarter than human or AI is human + AI.

‘Big Short’ Investor Michael Burry Blasts Trading Apps, Calls Robinhood a ‘Dangerous Casino’

Agreed, the "the stock market is just a casino!" sentiment that has received additional fuel due to recent Robinhood events is dangerous and can backfire on legit traders (i.e. those that are in fact not treating it like a casino). I really wish guys like Burry would tone down the rhetoric...

How often have tax cuts for the rich trickled down? Never.

The devil is in the details. 100% capital gains tax on rich individuals obviously doesn't work ("common sense"). 50% capital gains tax on rich individuals would actually work fine, except A) those people tend to migrate wherever they want, which causes issues to anyone wishing to tax rich...

    Ichimoku & certainty

Trading is not at all about certainty. Trading is about recognizing that: ExpectedProfit = WinRate * SizeOfWin - (1 - WinRate) * SizeOfLoss (WinRate is a probability between 0 and 1. SizeOfWin and SizeOfLoss are in dollars.) Trading is about entering a trade if ExpectedProfit > 0, subject to...

    Mistakes I try to overcome

Random suggestions: A) Create a spreadsheet on GoogleDocs or Excel. Depending on your trade frequency, write down weekly (or monthly, or daily) starting amount and ending amount, plus an automated column for returns. Add some columns to automatically calculate a target and max loss for a given...

GME and AMC Reddit Traders getting Slaughtered

The number of people reading WSB multiplied the last few weeks AFAIK. There will be some winners among them if they exit in time, a fair portion won't as they're probably paralyzed by fear or dumb WSB peer pressure. (Maybe there's a factor of this that I missed and that GME will indeed be...

    MNQ vs. QQQ

Might be saying something obvious to you here, but it depends on what kind of holding you do. If you need to be able to get stopped out outside market hours (e.g. due to using leverage and having no options hedge over a swing trade) then MNQ is obviously better.

    DeepFuckingValue refuses to bank profits

Yep now is a good time to exit unless you believe in miracles and the collective intelligence of trolls. Personally I don't know what US regulations say given the guy has been promoting his own position quite heavily, though. Is he required to make any disclosures or can he just dump it?

    DeepFuckingValue refuses to bank profits

In my subjective opinion he should aim to keep at least $10 million; he can live a comfortable life off that and it's a decent contribution to his portfolio, despite the DD possibly meaning it will take him years to reach a new ATH. Of course the fact that he has gotten this far probably means...

    GME

I read that shorting losers has been a great strategy for years prior to the recent inversion. Again, why should they have foreseen such a huge enough amount of additional buying above consensus fundamental value to trigger massive short covering?

    GME

Fair enough, they might have been there on WSB secretly pumping for that matter. :)

    GME

Sure they've joined in now, I understood his question as why they didn't initiate it though. Although I realize that's not a clear cut fact.

    GME

Hedge funds do care about fundamental value. More to the point, hedge funs might have problems existing a sizeable position way above fundamental value even if paper profits are up in the sky. Someone else needs to buy when you sell, remember. Probably they had precluded the possibility there...

    the top is in

Disclaimer, and about to say something obvious: I definitely don't know as I've been in the group of suckers that have been calling tops since 2014, the latest of which 2020 COVID. A top might be in, not necessarily not THE top. While is this really the first major one I'm actively trading...
