    Cost normalization

"In general" you want the position cash value (num of shares times share price) to be proportional to the inverse to volatility, whether that is measured by ATR, STD, or w/e. The devil is in the details I suppose, you could also include forward looking estimates of vol (from options).

So whats up with this sell off 9-20-2021

LOL yeah it really does. But different tastes over in Asia w.r.t. to what's cool sounding and not.

Europe’s Energy Crisis Is Driving Up Natural Gas Prices Worldwide

Depends on your country I suppose. Crisis is certainly exaggerating (by this instant in time) but Sweden is starting to see energy prices in the south of the country that shut down energy intensive industry. Of course we fully bought into the "shut down nuclear and replace by wind" crap, and now...

    I need your valuable advices.

No point rushing into passive stock market investing now... Returns over next decade may well be negative. Try to get serious conservative advice from your bank for a start, then start educating yourself. As for active investing or trading... let's just say it takes way more than asking this...

    LuxAlgo

Stuff like this is >99.9% waste of time and/or money, good luck finding the golden nugget of someone that doesn't sell overfitted crap (which maybe exists but I wouldn't know). Sorry for dumping my pessimism in this thread but I firmly believe you are better off developing your own skill set...

    Have we topped?

Options expiry Friday afaik, after that market maker delta hedging activity is going to be wildly different! (It has had dampening/mean reverting effect so far in August).

Pull over Jeeves, time for A nice day at the beach. Bikinis all around.

Well, the only surviving Swedish major car manufacturer is owned by China these days, so... Though they keep around research and production here, for now. TBH they are better owners than Ford that nearly killed the company, probably a case for long term view versus by quarter capitalism. We do...

    Have we topped?

It's going to be a brave new world on Monday! TBH the anecdotal fact that so many traders seem bearish to me is probably the main reason I'm skeptical we will go down much. :D However, various better conducted surveys are showing sentiment highs.

Pull over Jeeves, time for A nice day at the beach. Bikinis all around.

We Swedes are excellent at being pacifists and selling weapons at the same time, hope the India deal goes through. :D

    Have we topped?

Growth expectations are getting slashed (among other things delta COVID, China), although we saw forward P/E deflation so far this year it wasn't enough. TBH I'm ready to dip buy anyway but expecting (=hoping) for a larger drop than so far before that. Spooz is barely showing a dent yet. But...

1 out of every 153 American workers is an Amazon employee

Show me a developed country that has around 350 million people, the sample list will be very short. In fact, if we drop the developed qualifier there is just the US, India, and China with same or bigger populations. In the other end Indonesia and Pakistan, hardly comparable. How sure are you...

Japanese athletes face Chinese nationalists' wrath after beating China at Olympics

Good quote for TL;DR-ers like me on OP. Effing disgraceful behavior described by quoted text, but then again I've come to expect it from the Internet.

1 out of every 153 American workers is an Amazon employee

You do realize it works just fine in Sweden and several other European countries right? It's far more cost efficient (not to mention equal) than the American healthcare system, the only advantage of which is to subsidize a large portion of the world's pharmaceutical development costs.

Depends [on the type of news], instantly to years IMO.

    Modern Retail Needs Modern Rules

TL;DR version: Rules based on number of shares lead to predictably moronic outcomes given the range of stock prices in the modern market.

Goldman Sachs's state of the market

If I had to guess: Reddit has wider reach. ET remains a bit of a niche site that struggles with genuine user counts (as opposed to the bots). I don't have any numbers but I wouldn't be surprised if Reddit on trading reaches >100x to 1000x the number of users. I concede I might be in a dying...

CFTC Charges Chicago Commodity Pool Operators, Owner, and Former Chief Portfolio Manager with Fraud

Oh cool, after reading first part of linked page I finally remembered LJM from the VIX ETN implosion of 2018; legal cases take their fair time.
