The temptation was when price was going up. The lower high and reversal bar was a very nice short entry, but I missed it. Currently flat and feel it's too risky to initiate a trade from here as I have a short bias, but we're in a zone now where we can reverse back up intraday. My main scenario...

TL broken. Let's see if this leg down stops around 72-73. If not, maybe we'll sell off today after all.

I was tempted to go long here (76), but not getting a good read, so sitting on my hands at the time being. FWIW, I do not think we'll sell off today and favour new highs by the close, although it's a mixed read for me. Big picture, we might be consolidating today before the next large move...

    Anyone use moving average indicators?

    Fully understand that. : )

Looking good. Is the code available or private?

MAs generally are too slow, IMO. I'm experimenting a bit with the MAMA indicator. Still on the fence regarding that one, but I think it holds some improvement over regular MAs.

A 93,75 point RTH range makes this the largest range so far in 2019. That's a whopping 24,00 points greater than the 2nd biggest range this year. Will we see a greater range by year end? Last year we had a few 100 + days.

Fantastic down day. Thank you, Trump! :) The October script is still in play and assuming similar volatility as we've seen in the last weeks it's likely that we'll print 2730 some time during next week. The last 3 corrections down of >10 % have been of the magnitude - 20,44 %, - 11,83 % and -...

Off the shelf software vs a mix of open source?

I guess. But if I were to do it again - I would have paid more initially and paired up with someone who really knows what they're doing. Easier said than done, I think. Also, maybe I'm paranoid, but I'm a bit wary of sharing my stuff with other people - even programmers. Fortunately for me, most...

Off the shelf software vs a mix of open source?

I can't help you, but I can empathize with your situation. Is 18 months your total exposure to the markets in general? If so, I can tell you that 18 months isn't that long a time. I hired my first team of programmers 10 years ago and was thrilled with the results. A very fast and top notch...

The big picture is that we're rangebound and consolidating after an initial 209 point (- 6,9 %) drop top to bottom. What we're seeing here is no different from last October, really. I think we'll trade lower from here. < 2820 by end of this week or early next week.

Care to enlighten us with what you specifically mean by parameters? Thanks. EDIT: By the way - the current month is not your common month on ES, although this entire year have on average been fairly volatile. 2018 was not that bad either. 2017 was entirely different.

Well, I think 'narrow range day' is a more accurate description as a 'doji' day can have substantial price movement. October/November 2017 had a 20-day average range < 10,0 points. Good luck trying to trade that. Anyway, one of the biggest lessons I've learned from another successful trader...

    Does trendline work?

Of course trend lines work! Can they effectively be used to trigger profitable signals, i.e., continuation signals or reversal signals? Now, that's an entirely different question. :) The short answer for me is that I like to use trend lines when they can be drawn perfectly and ideally if I have...

If you don't have an edge, yes. Better just get it over with, then. You've been overleveraged all the way. No doubt about it. Nothing has changed from that first post I'm quoting. I think deep down you're overleveraged because you know you don't have an edge and you're trying to get lucky on a...

Soaring is an exaggeration, don't you think? A far more muted market in ETH compared to last Monday's ETH session. This market is headed south, still. Many people see Up and all they can think is Up, but forget that even a strong Up can be part of a larger Down... :)

2nd largest down day so far in 2019. Only beaten by last Monday (2,99 % vs 2,94 % today).
