Do you rely on your trading to put food on the table?

But all else being equal your trades will be smaller if your account SiZe is smaller. If you lose money your account size will be smaller.

Do you rely on your trading to put food on the table?

It is. A 50k account should trade half as much size as a 100k. The point is dollar space vs return space.

Do you rely on your trading to put food on the table?

I think he’s talking about downdrift inherent in returns. Businesses don’t have it as they are based on dollarsfrom time period to time period. A dry cleaner makes X +/- epsilon per year. If epsilon is negative one year it doesn’t affect what X will be next year. But in a trading book it does as...

    Another thug murders decent citizens

Gwb writes a thread called thug to highlight the killers were black but produces no thoughts himself on why that fact is relevant or why he’s posting the article in the first place. So everyone wastes time trying to figure it out and then he can claim deniability or credibility based on the...

You cant eat private equity IRR returns

Prob a few less than blackstone but that’s only because blackstone has hundreds of employees. But that’s the scam. Returns aren’t great but fees are high. And in PE firms don’t just earn on the 2 and 20. They charge the portfolio companies pretty hefty administration fees.

You cant eat private equity IRR returns

I agree. I bet there are 5x more centillionaires at blackstone than citadel, sac and millennium combined

Isn’t that the NFL’s decision then? Why are you so worked up about it. You don’t get a say.

You cant eat private equity IRR returns

Private equity is a scam. IRR calculations encourage a quick return of cash. That’s not the way to build wealth unless you can easily reinvest that cash. It’s tough to find good deals.

Calculating Expected move using different models

I used to determine a forward vol. but I don’t think it was statistically better. The MBUU situation could be something idiosyncratic and just the exception to your formula

Calculating Expected move using different models

The vol reset is the tricky part. The algebra is an approximation. Often the implied move is greater because the term structure goes upward sloping.

There are rules about modifying your uniform. This is because it can affect the sponsorship dollars that the NFL brand earns. There was no rule about standing for the anthem. Now the issue has become larger that it's not easy to put one in place. If there were a rule about standing for the...

    Boycott NIKE!

That is also a problem but it’s not the same. the government is supposed to protect its citizens... cops killing blacks (and the whole situation is a lot more complicated that I’m making it) is exactly the opposite of that. Certain citizens are being harmed and society looks the other way when...
