Schwab cuts commissions to zero on US stocks, options and ETFs

Ah, ok, it will cost IB also - not as much as the others though - because IB will have to share a piece of the pie with Citadel and the likes. In other words for broker clients, IB Lite will cost as much or more than Pro, but for clients on IB Lite, IB will have to share a piece of the revenue...

Schwab cuts commissions to zero on US stocks, options and ETFs

It seems the market understands at least partially that IB will not lose revenue - that IB will earn pretty much the same on Lite as it does on Pro, and therefore IBKR is trading down less than the others.

Schwab cuts commissions to zero on US stocks, options and ETFs

Here IB claim they add price improvement of USD 0.43 per 100 shares corresponding to USD 0.0042 per share. If that reflects reality, zero commission will add nothing for current IB clients. However, for Schwab clients it will, because at Schwab you currently pay commission AND your order flow is...

    Shadowing activist short-seller

I did that (not minutes, seconds after) and made money especially after the China Hustle activist short reports. It was very profitable, but I stopped when it became too popular. It is not profitable today. You can backtest if you do not trust me. At least not short term.

Does anyone know whether the enactment of a US FTT would require The Democratic Party to control a majority in both chambers?

Breaking: Interactive Brokers lite commission free

I I have just read up on the FTT in Belgium. Is seems to cover all stock transactions - not just stocks listed in Belgium. Is that correct? In that case it must be the first time an all-encompassing version of an FTT has been enacted? The EU gave up on plans to introduce an all-encompassing FTT...

Breaking: Interactive Brokers lite commission free

Because Citadel or anyone else buying the order will only pay a price that generates a profit for them. If you know the price you most likely have a gauge for what you will at a minium pay due to your broker selling your order. You can then compare that with the commission you pay and make an...

Interactive Brokers introduces free zero commission trading platform.

The most important piece of information to gauge the attractiveness of zero commission is: What payment per share does the broker receive when selling your order? Anyone?

The World’s First Ambassador to the Tech Industry

Well, my knowledge of US tax rates clearly is inadequate. I will apologize for that. I did not know that you had to pay the 3,8% NIIT and CA 13.3% on top of the long-term capital gains rate. Yes, in Denmark the dividend tax rate = capital gains tax rate = 42%. Here I am absolutely certain, so...

I will admit that 52.9% + 2.35% + employer portion (which is just as valid) is higher than I expected. Let’s for the sake of simplicity leave excise taxes out of the equation (the 150% on cars for instance – by the way for smaller cars you get a bargain excise tax of only 85%.) The marginal...

The World’s First Ambassador to the Tech Industry

I did not use the term “marginal tax rate.” I am not attempting to calculate an average tax load. However, when searching Google I do agree that “combined marginal tax rate” is only rarely used in the context I have used it. In Denmark the term is used all the time. The reason obviously is that...

Combined marginal tax rate: marginal income tax rate + VAT and excise taxes on an average basket of goods and services that reflect how people on average spend their income. Yes, you can save your money and move to another country and spend it where VAT and excise taxes are lower. Yes, you can...

In Denmark the combined marginal tax rate (income tax + VAT + excise taxes) = 67%. This is an example of how that money is wasted.
