Which broker to scalp the QQQ and SPY, commission free ?

In your country, is stock trading above a certain threshold (volume, frequency) considered a business and thus taxed at normal (higher) income tax rates? Besides zero tax jurisdictions, I have so far only found one country where that is not the case.

    Switching to lite

Do you disagree that a directly routed limit order (not a marketable limit order) can be subject to sub-pennying where you pay an opportunity cost because your order is resting on the exchange not getting filled while sub-penny orders put in front of your order gets filled.

    Switching to lite

That is 100% incorrect. If you route a limit order directly, you are still subject to sub-pennying. If you route a market order, your order is still subject to co-location and faster lines between exchange servers.

    Switching to lite

If the the number of shares at the best bid or ask is sitting on one specific exchange server or your order is small enough to get filled with the shares sitting on one server, you will most likely not get raped. Otherwise you will get raped as described in detail in Michael Lewis' Flash Boys...

    Switching to lite

If you use IB Pro, your order is still exposed to Citadel, Virtu etc. using sub-pennying, co-location, faster cables between different exchange servers (as described in Flash Boys) etc. One of several ways we lose is due to market makers sub-pennying limit orders until the market moves, which...

    Switching to lite

Orders get raped no matter whether they are sold or not. The market maker is willing to pay for the right to be the rapist. The question is whether orders are getting more raped when they are sold. IB’s average execution price would suggest that, but it probably depends on order type and venue.

IB borrow rate for BIMI 860%

I assume all brokers disclose their borrow rates. If someone is interested in sharing borrow rates quoted at different brokers then send a message to me. I can supply the Interactive Brokers borrow rates. Then we can compare rates.

IB borrow rate for BIMI 860%

Thank you for sound input. In case brokers lift borrow fees above the market rate, the relevant strategy must be the synthetic short stock options strategy described by trader99. The strategy will secure paying the market borrow rate instead of a potentially artificially high broker borrow rate...

IB borrow rate for BIMI 860%

Well, seems it was worth the 860%. Two hours and 40 minutes later, BIMI is down 45% from the open.

    Free US stock commissions internationally

On IB's website it now says: "IBKR Lite is the hassle free way to trade in the US, India and other eligible countries." https://www.interactivebrokers.com/en/index.php?f=45196 I think the "and other eligible countries" part has been added after the initial announcement? It doesn't say which...

can IB user get teh tradestation platform

It’s the other way around. As a TS client, you got the opportunity to trade globally from a multi currency account due to a collaboration with IB. IB clients clients cannot use the TS platform.

Blackstone talked with Citadel about buying a stake: report

If Citadel is only worth only USD 5 - 7 billion, I really regret not being able to test zero commission as an EU resident. I thought they were stealing much more.

The reason why EU clients are excluded from commission-free trading

I contacted Tradestation and was told it included EU residents. Several days later they changed their website. I contacted Tradestation again and was told that the decision had been made the same day. I wrote in another thread that Tradestation commission-free trading did not include EU...

    Borrow rates

    1) Do borrow rates at the large brokers (Interactive Brokers, Charles Schwab, Ameritrade, E-Trade, Fidelity) reflect a unique market rate or do borrow rates differ among brokers? 2) The current borrow rate for BYND at Interactive Brokers is 187.61%. What is the BYND borrow rate at: Charles...

Really IB....really? Now you're just throwing branding and marketing at us...even your "pro" users?

This actually seems to be the route Tradestation has chosen: "Only available to U.S. residents. Commission-free equities trading applies to equities trades placed on TradeStation Mobile App or TradeStation Web Trading of up to 10,000 shares; for each order of more than 10,000 shares, a $0.001...

    Alternatives to HK?

In Singapore is there a distinction between normal investment taxed as capital gains (=0 tax) and trading above a certain threshold taxed as business income similar to what is the case in most countries? Thanks.

And the "IBKR PRO" in the upper righthand corner to mock me and other EU clients who can't get access to Lite.

    Alternatives to HK?

Monaco. Hardly a hidden gem. Aren’t you liable to pay tax where you live?
