TST Combine - Entering Algo into TST

Thanks for sharing Spectre2007, Your system gives me some hope to keep on working hard to find a low drawdown system to pass TST and get funded. That is a very good low drawdown (I estimated about $2500 to $3000) equity curve. The system looks conservative and low risk. I believe the goal...

TST Combine - Entering Algo into TST

Thank you for sharing Spectre2007, I believe I attempted the TST combine like 6 times and failed for the following the reasons: 1. No confidence in the strategy I was using. 2. Not letting profit runs per the strategy I was using. 3. Trying to pass the TST on the 30K account with $1500...

TST Combine - Entering Algo into TST

Great work Spectre2007. Great profits. So your algo identified the consolidating (range) market today and adjusted to take small profits or trade range setups?

Thank you so much Spectre2007, Now i understand what you mean.:) Wow, so all the trend systems I tried to back test in NT, I never considered a trend filter or volatility indicator. I just test the trend system considering all market conditions throughout the historical back test. In other...

TST Combine - Entering Algo into TST

Thanks Spectre2007, Are you saying that : 1. One algo (trending system) can not trade the ES market everyday? 2. Multiple systems are needed for different market conditions (trending, consolidation) daily? If this is the case, if day trading, I wouldn't know if today will be trending or...

TST Combine - Entering Algo into TST

Great write up Spectre2007, I can share my comments on "let your profits run". When I manually trade (semi discretionary and semi mechnical), and I exit the trade for a profit, I get happy. Then it goes up for more profits after I exit, my first thoughts are "I soo wish i had just stayed in...

TST Combine - Entering Algo into TST

Thanks Spectre2007, I am using CQG demo free data with NT. And for one strategy (Intraday price action and 3 EMAs for trend) it shows great results for 2007-2008, but 2009-2015, the results is just not good. I am starting to question can I really trust free CQG demo data. They provide on 1...

TST Combine - Entering Algo into TST

Thanks and I agree with you. Every trade has probability (expectancy) of being a winner. I have a question regarding the NT data feed used to back test strategies. Do you use NT free CQG demo data or some other paid data service?

Hello Spectre2007, Very very very good trading and accomplishment. Great job and execution well done. :):) Few questions please: 1. How does it feel passing the Combine personally? 2. Did you stop intervening with the algo during trading day? 3. Any advice for me and others as I am...

TST Combine - Entering Algo into TST

Good point MidwesternTrader, TST uses trailing drawdown. The best way I can explain it is using a spreadsheet I developed to practice passing the Combine. Notice the every profit increases the drawdown. For system building I just ignore the trailing drawdown and stick to drawdown

I agree with you with the high probability trades setup, especially with passing the combine. Question, what indicator are you using the draw trend lines in NT? So for combine here is the goals I have to get funded moneywise: Combine goals Avoid $2000 trailing drawdown, make $2500 profit...
