all this will work on daily and longer time frames. not everyone is able to trade those time frames because of financial or psychological constraints /demands. and i do not believe everyone should trade those time frames if that method does not fit their psychological profile.

it is bar by bar but if your time frame is hourly or daily or monthly it will work.....but if you want more trades like Brooks did, trade the smaller time frames.

i just love your description no one has ever described Brooks more perfectly in two lines. His zeal for analysis of markets with it's myriad distortions is unmatched by anyone i have seen in my 25 years of study of technical analysis and it is something that draws me to him continuously again...

if you are using 5 min charts you will get 5 min movements .....Brooks felt you get a lot more trading opportunities with 5 min and he is right:but with each trade there is considerable emotional and intellectual energy to be committed expended and if you do 20 trades in 4 hours ...well you do...

nice point that is why many traders find Brooks rubbish.....however those who impatient like me and who looking for a way to kill some time...before time kills you.....find these small movements that 5 min offers entertaining in a way..most find sitting for hours in front of screen drudgery but...
