Total newbie question, trying to understand options.

95% of option traders are not interested in trading the stock. So in your example instead of exercising the call option to buy the stock you would sell the call at $2.00. $2.00 x 100 = $200 $200 - $87 = $113 profit About the same profit if you exercised the calls, then sold the stock.

How to Sell Vertical Spread Option TD Ameritrade

You are grasping at straws. You MAY getting filled at mid-market in any situation - or you MAY not. The market might move against you during the 15 seconds it take you to place your 2nd order - or it might move in your direction. You will not get "smashed".

The "Know your Client" questions are not IB's way of screening out clients - regulations require IB and all brokers to collect that info. No there will be no legal repercussions. Credit Cards are the same - if they require $60,000 yearly income then put down you make $60,000 a year. The card will be in the mail within a week. IMO ...... COVID-19 has made the "Know Your Client" questions worthless. Your financial situation can...

Trying to open an Interactive Brokers account

Just fudge the questions and exaggerate your income, net worth, trading experience, etc - brokers do not confirm. Those are "Know Your Client" questions which I believe all brokers have to ask.

What's your opinion regarding this bull put spread strategy?

I have that Put Credit Spread at $1.85 credit - not $3.00. Quotes from Yahoo Finance and TD. IMO ....... Buying the weekly OTM calls is better than a Put Credit Spread. More profit potential and less risk. My preference is Long OTM Calls only. But a OTM Call Debit Spread could also be considered.
